You need to provide additional information before anyone can give an opinion.

Is this a single story or two story house?
What furnace do you currently have, how big is it and how old?
Why do you think you have to move the furnace?
Why do you think you need 5 tons of cooling?
What is your location and how well is your house insulated?

its a 2 story split level
the furnace is an original G&S circa 1967
Moving the furnace will get better circulation of hot air during summer by putting the intake at the top of the stairs.
I'm in So. Cal and the house is insulated via blown in about 18" deep in attic and we had the walls filled also.
Having the unit in an out of the way hallway with one small intake on the bottom floor does nothing for the upstairs during the summer or winter. Especially in summer when its 15 degrees hotter upstairs.
The insulation job we did has made a huge improvement over the last 4-5 years since we put it in but the heating and air have sucked for the entire 17 years we have lived there.

I thought you were keeping your old furnace, but I assume from its age you are replacing it.

The Bryant model you quoted is a low end builder's grade unit. You have improved your insulation so I think a 5 ton unit would be oversized. You should find a contractor who will do a load calcualtion and install a properly sized unit.
