There are a lot of negative opinions on Goodman furnaces. Do a search on "Goodman problems" on this forum to read about the complaints.

My friend has had a 95% efficiency goodman fornace for 2 years now. Its has been good. Its nice and quiet. The sheat metal on the furnace itself is thin though. That is probably how they keep the price down. I'm not as much of a fan of their A/C's or heatpumps though.

We had a Goodman heating and air conditioning unit installed just over 5 years ago. Had our first problem within 2 years--covered by warranty. Now I learn that the 10 year warranty they claim is only good if it is activated on line--our installer said he activated the warranty but apparently didn't know the 10 year required more action. Now, I have had to have a fan motor ($15 part) and a blower motor ($400) replaced. If someone suggests you get a Goodman RUN.

did some research on HVAC-talk.com, seems Goodman has gotten better as of late and a lot of the issues have people have can be attributed to the installer. even some of the consumer review websites have awful reviews for carrier, bryant, lennox, trane, etc...may be leaning the way of the Goodman. seems to be good price/value.
