Webpage background

I'm looking for a free webpage background that looks like aged paper. I am planning to put up a website with letters that were written by my great grandparents during the Civil War, and think they would look good on that type of background. Any suggestions?

Thanks Elly. I had searched quite a bit for an aged paper background with no luck. That's why I ask here, just in case someone might could lead me to that type of background.

Guess I'll have to try making my own.

I found this background if you haven't located one maybe you could take a look at it. You might modify it a little
brighter or use white text on it or something.

MaryAnn
I've searched and searched and found nothing. :(
I think you'll have to make your own but on the bright side it will be original, just what you want and you won't have to worry about copyright.
Good luck.
Sue :)

Thanks everyone.

Elly, I do appreciate your help!

Will, I think your background would work for me if I lightened it quite a bit.

Sue, I've never made my own background. Is there a trick to making it?

MaryAnn using PSP (paint shop) you make a seamless tile and then lower the opacity so it's muted.
Hopefully this link will help. I know a long time ago we did this in the Graphic and scanning forum so if you get stuck we can ask in there and someone may remember the details step by step.

Here is another one I scrounged up. Perhaps it could be used as an image with text typed onto it? If you use it, do with it as you like.

RE:: Webpage background

Maybe just give that image a drop shadow and the webpage a white background and it would work.
