Rich, I take all of my pictures in high resolution then use the free program Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) to resize my pictures and save them as a reduced version (usually 640x480 size which results in files of about 140 KB. This is the perfect computer screen size. Then I upload these to my photobucket account and cut and paste the tags into my email. Hope this helps. Adam: We live in Wilmington NC and I am lucky to have a well so irrigation has not been a problem. The back of the house has a raised, very large patio --was cement aggregate that I have laboriously handpainted to look like brick (see separate album on that adventure!) Finished it finally last week too. It is such a large area, it was just too visible and the painted bricks help it to stay down viaually. We have been here for 8 years and I started the garden from scratch 7 years ago, but since I throw everything I have at each new adventure, I tend to overdo things as you can see. Thank you for all the kind words about my garden, etc. (you can tell I love it can't you?) The vine around the porch (both front and back) is Confederate Jasmine an evergreen for us with the most intoxicating scent when in bloom during May. I do have lab lab on the white garden screen in some of the photos. Love Daffodils, do not enter any just love having them. Thanks for all the comments on my photography too, if you take enough pictures, you are bound to get some good ones and with digital photography I take thousands! Instant gratification and no film to buy/develop. I am on my third camera now. I have so many more great photos, not all of them are on the photo site. I love to make CD slide shows with music and send them to my sister in Massachusetts (New Bedford) since she is not able to visit and can tour the garden too. Glad to share it with you. Pauline

Marcia - Yes, the music is Vivaldi. My favorite classical composer. Christine - I am lucky to have lots of Paw Paws, larval food of the Zebra Swallowtail, in the area so I always have Zebras nectaring in the garden in the spring. Felix - Hello to you and Sylvia too! And David says Hi, too! naplesgardener - I had the same problem with IDing Butterflies too. So when taking pictures I try to get upper and lower shots. Another problem I had was IDing cats which is why I put the cats together with their adults. As far as pointers to successful Butterfly gardening all I can say is plant lots of nectar sources [the most popular ones in my yard are lantana, salvia, cuphea, and, the best, Joe Pye Weed] And be willing to sacrifice your larval food plants to the cats. I have 5 passionflower vines and 4 cassias that are all looking down right ragged now and my dill and fennel are history. For those with water features in their yard, I found that Black Swallowtail cats will happily munch Water Celery if your dill and fennel runs out! DH had help this year. Our DGson came to help out, and I can't believe they did it all in one weekend! Usually it takes DH at least a week to do it. DGson remembered Exactly where everything went from last year (amazing) and they whipped it together so fast. luckygal... My fondest memories of Christmas as a kid, was when my brother and I played with our train set under the tree. The snow I have under the tree is one of those 'glittery' blankets. As far as DH's village...all it took was him getting 2 as a gift one year..and now you see the results. I've never seen them before, and they're beautiful. I bought 4 of the Johnson Christmas tree, at Marshalls..but I'm not too crazy about them and I'm thinking of returning them. You can click on the "Collections" button on the tool bar to bring up your collections. Then right click on the collection that you don't want anymore and select DELETE. Or you can right click on each picture/sound/video in the collections in the center box area and delete them as you want. Also - when you have the Collections pane viewable on the left - you can right click on "collections" and select New Collection. Then you can rename that whatever you like. That helps me keep track of what I am working on. I use a new collection for each project. I do delete them afer a while to keep the clutter down. One thing to note - Even if you have "saved" your slideshow, you need to keep the pictures in the same space if you ever want to use that show again. If you have burnt the show to disk - it will be fine on the disk, you won't need to worry about it. But if you have just saved the show to your hard drive, and want to go back and burn that show again to something with it - if the pictures have been moved or deleted (not from the collections, but from the actual hard drive) - you will be missing those pictures from you Slide Show. Don't ever change the location of the pictures you are working with, while working on a show either. I moved some from my hard drive to my external hard drive once, without thinking how it would affect the slide show - that was a mess! It was fine when I moved them back to the original location until I was finished with my project. I think there might be some WMM tutorials on YouTube. I am on dialup - so I can't really find any to link you to right now.
