I have a question about "tables". The more rows, the further down in the post it displays. Know how to get rid of that?

Dawn, that little cutie might be the smallest "Moose" ever. I hope you're feeling better today! I'm too busy to be sick. It makes me grouchy when I'm too sick to do the things I feel like I need to. What kind of flowers are you trying to grow? I've been through those rounds for many years of letting the kiddos start seeds indoors in Feb & few, if any, ever really thrived. LOL Always wound up going out to buy plants to replace them. Ah, well, at least it kept them busy & excited & hopeful waiting for spring. This year we did the winter sowing thing & so far it looks like the ones that have sprouted outside and survived the ups and downs of our weather are smaller, but hardier & more healthy looking than any they tried growing inside. Moose, eh?

Whoooeeeeeee this Robin is in the home stretch. It seems SO long ago that it was here in Fairbanks Alaska. I love the idea that someone is typing up the journal so we can each read what all the others wrote. I'd also love to be at Shannon's house when that Little Bird comes home. What a party that would be. I'm looking foreward to reading about what the Robin brings home from his trip. Amy bless your heart for all the patient waiting you have done. I know you must be excited to finally have the robin visit you. How nice, and appropriate that Shirley sent you some real special goodies. You deserve an extra star for waiting so long.

Thank you all! You are making me so happy. :) I am not really a cook and have to say that the new space is inspiring me. I love being in the kitchen. Roserx - the faucet is Grohe's Bridgeford. It is awesome. Megaul - the window is an Andersen 400 series. The sides are casements and the center is a fixed picture. The dimensions are 6 feet wide by 3 feet tall. We originally discussed a taller window but it didn't work out and now I am so glad - with the taller backsplash behind the sink we get to see more granite and we don't have all the water splash on the window! :) I love my new window! :)

Thanks for your responses! I really appreciate your trying to visualize this without photos. I had been thinking about trying to use a little bit of all the colors in the first floor--just little splashes of vivid color in a softer background. But that suggests a mosaic approach, which is often beautiful but not usually what I think of as mellow. steff, I've not heard of using wood as a backsplash. It sounds lovely, but I would have thought it difficult to keep clean. Maybe a well-oiled plywood, trimmed with cutoffs from the resin counters...intriguing... Can you suggest any examples of modern wood backsplashes? dianalo, I love the idea of a 3D relief tile adding texture, as the counters and cabinets are both very smooth. But I wonder about colors. Wouldn't I want to tie in some colors from the rest of the open-plan area? Also, how would you use sheet glass as a backsplash? I'm thinking about how to affix it to the wall without the adhesive showing. I used to do some stained glass work, and I can see how a Mondrian-like geometric patchwork would be really beautiful. maybe take out the spaces and make it one contigious string because if you use line breakes or carriage returns here when gardenweb server parses the form data it adds in breaks and suddenly you have added breaks ontop of carriage returns and anyhow view source here and maybe you will see your errors... I changed cf/lf to wrap and removed extra blank spaces =

the background graphics certaily wont work when you link them directly off of someones online site that doesnt allow direct linking.

well, the pics did show in preview and for a while in the final post. Anyway, i suppose using win notepad is the issue. maybe NOBR will help.
I am still not sure how the lf /cr's got inserted before the table; not to mention why the increase of number of rows increased the lf & cr's.
OK, i see, by using a cr after a TD line or TR, these get inserted before the table! just weird, thats all.

No, i think the question was about why does it show a long space before the actual table and the reason, I think, is because of the way this forum works, it's counting the tag as a line in an attempt to make ordinary text posts here more WYSIWYG. You might try to put your table , row and cell tags all on one line and see if that makes a difference.
