question on index files

I was finally able to get some pages loaded to a web site. The directions said to be sure to delete the index.html. I did that and now all I have is a list of files on the site. The name of the site is Jamielee and when you go to this site, it says "index of Jamielee.

What did I do wrong?

How do I fix it?

Usually your home page is called index or default. I'm not sure why you were supposed to delete that file. Could you post your web address and maybe we could figure it out from there.

Since you haven't mentioned what sort of computer you have and didn't say what version of Windows you're using, I can only make a couple guesses. Usually, something that is labeled "Recovery" is your recovery partition and is there to return your system to the way it was when it was first built. You should not be adding or deleting any files from this space--leave it alone. The amount of space it shows is probably normal, and it's usually too small to worry about anyway. I have no idea why yours is labeled "D". Usually, something that is labeled "D" is your CD or DVD optical drive and you would only be seeing space used/available on it if there was a disc in the drive and you were reading it. However, if that is what you are doing then the numbers you provided don't make any sense to me.

Fonts/Zipped file Question

Owbist it worked with a few changes *lol* I unzipped the files and drag/dropped them into a folder I named "fonts". Then I went to "My Computer", clicked on the fonts icon and went to the top and opened "file". There I found the "Add Fonts" and clicked on it. The box opened and I tried to find my fonts folder. No matter what I did or clicked on it just would not open the area of My Documents where I had the folder. I noticed my cd/dvd drive was listed so I closed out of everything and made a cd of the fonts! Now when I went back and started over I just clicked on my cd/dvd drive, clicked "select all", hit "ok" and that was it!! Worked like a charm :o) Out of curiousity I open my PhotoShop Elements, opened a photo to play with, hit the font icon and they were now listed in the font list!! I'm a happy camper!! You might look in your control panel at ' Users ' See if you have Administrator privileges ? Perhaps let us know what version of windows you have,, maybe the program name too.

High Index eyeglass lens question

I'm an optician and I sell a lot of Varilux lenses. The Varilux Physio 360 is being phased out for the newer Physio Enchanced. Both are types of progressives and both come in many different lens materials. They are both excellent progressives but there are very good progressives for less money if it's a concern. I do suggest high index lenses for you and you shouldn't have problems with these lenses as they come in high index materials. The thinnest lens you could get would be the 1.74 high index but depending on the frame and your pupil distance a 1.67 high index would be cheaper and could be only a little thicker. Do get the Crizal Avance anti refective coating, it's really outstanding and worth paying extra for. I'm glad to answer any questions.

Deb,

Just rename your main page to index.html. They were just telling you to delete the temporary index file they had placed there.

It is standard procedure to name your main page index.html. Otherwise you will have to specify the file name everytime you go to the site.
