Can I disable source view or hide my html source

Any one knows how to disable source view or how to hide my html source.

Its not possible. But what you can do, is open your HTML page in a text editor and shift all your code way down the page...but its pointless.

Chez Madeline Gourmet Preserves book has 1 Chapter devoted to No Sugar Jams. I prefer that book for preserves over Ellie Topp's I need not, but also , personally don't care for any artifical sweetner. I can taste it in an 1/8th of teaspoon of anything. My Putting food By book uses liquid sweetner not powdered in the low sugar recipes. 2 Seasons ago I switched to Low-Methoxyl Pectin, I use Dutch Jel due to the availabilty locally for me living near Amish communities. What I found for what is considered "normal" consistency we are acustom for full sugar jams and jellies using less/no sugar with commercial Low Sugar pectins is the blue or purple colored fruits seem to mask the suspension of the calcium required for such pectins. I really don't notice it, nor does the end product present a cloudy product in the darker fruits. For the reds, such as red raspberries or strawberries it seems more evident. The first year of strawberry Jam Low Sugar I thought, what is this? At the fair competition we opened one jar and the 5 of use decided the taste/ consistency was that of freezer jam. In fair competiton last year I tested the presentation of Low Sugar, all darker fruits won ribbons and the reds didn't even place. Said that, if you don't mind a cloudy looking product for the reds you should be fine with the Pomona. Decades ago I would make no sugar peach jam for diabetics, that product was a darker colored peach due to the longer cooking period. I also mix alot of berries together for jams and don't notice the suspension. About the only thing I make full sugar is the red raspberry jelly anymore. Annie, if you don't like artifical sweenter, don't try the pickles, they are horrible.(sorry guys) My neighbor who cans and is a brittle diabetic uses artifical sweenter in everything, the pickles and pickled eggs I just couldn't eat, yuck. As mentioned above the Sure Jell Low/No Sugar works fine has lots of recipes in the box. The only difference is you are limited to the batch size. Personally, I don't process commercially anymore and there is no need for me to make cases at a time, if I think I want to try a new combo without making one batch I will use the clear jel for taste/test purposes just cook a small amount, if it is liked then make a canned batch. Thanks for the quick response guys! It sounds like you're both confirming what I had feared -- I'll have to take matters into my own (not so handy) hands. It had crossed my mind to look for a commercial fridge -- part of why I want to make this case is to grow Masdevallias and Draculas (they just disintegrate here in L.A's dry heat). I'll try looking one up. I've also thought about building one myself, but my handicap on both alternatives is that I'm somewhat do-it-yourself challenged. I'd be afraid to renovate the fridge (I don't want my own ozone layer hole named after me!) and I can't for the life of me figure out what to do with a 4x5 foot piece of plexi or glass that has to open so I can get at the insides of the box. I've looked a a couple of aquarium/terrarium websites that describe the process of building wood/acrylic cases. However, I'd really be more comfortable finding some good plans that describe how to make a sliding or hinged front panel, and how to measure whatever materials you need. Again, not having much experience beyond changing the odd washer or connecting a wire here and there, I'd be afraid I'd spend a couple hundred bucks on materials and then find everything was 3/16 of an inch off. Thanks again for your help, and be assured I am not yet ready to admit defeat on this!

kirkhall the north side/wall is at the top of the drawing, the south at the bottom. (the north arrow is shown to the right of the first floor). The wall facing south is the one with the front door, so its where the sun comes from most of the day. just fyi, there is about 7.5 ft ceiling height 5 ft from the south wall in the master bathroom, and there is a dormer in the center, which adds extra ceiling height (although not where the toilet is shown) (Also the dormers are not very clearly drawn...sorry about that....these are my drawings, so you know...drafting standards are lax, or rather non existent....) having the master suite upstairs in these cape style houses is tricky, in my opinion. the layouts in these houses are really constrained with the reduced ceiling height at those walls. however, the overall style has a lot of appeal for many reasons for us (appearance, energy efficiency, cost to build, etc.) the ridge runs east to west, and there is a lot of height there (entrance to master bedroom, loft overlooking below, and guest bath) I was originally advocating for the master suite on the first floor, for one floor living if necessary. DH has successfully argued for keeping all of the "public" areas downstairs, and "private areas" upstairs. Upstairs will have a cozy feel. He says we can always put an elevator in where the closet by the stairs is (1st floor) if we have too (I bet that's not cheap!). I'm with you on walking into the master bedroom facing the closet. it doesn't seem ideal for sure. I'm open to ideas. just keep in mind, that big window in the dormer on the north wall in the master bedroom looks out over the property and has views of the mountains. I don't want to block it with a closet. kelhuck re point 1) - i didn't even think about that. We toured a house with the stairs arranged just like it, and thought it was great. That's a good point though. I've thought about the stairs quite a bit, but never from that angle (odd in retrospect). They also had a little more space between the stairs and front door than I'm showing. 2)laundry - yeah, this is a big one for me. I go round and round on this:) The trade-off is to just have a laundry closet, but have the laundry upstairs, or put it in the mud-room, have more space, but have to haul laundry up and down stairs all the time. right now, i'm leaning towards not caring if the laundry clutters up the loft a bit, but there is not much room there at all, its only barely works. currently, my washer and dryer are in our garage, which is not conditioned. I bring baskets of laundry back into our bedroom, and process everything there. S, its not far fetched to have a small closet, but the appeal of a little room I can close off is strong. I swear I want a new house just for a space conditioned laundry room:) 3) pretty much, yes. the appeal of timber homes is showing off the structure, those gorgeous timbers. all timber homes I've seen have a least some two story view inside. however, there is strong sentiment on this board against it, that its loud. since I've never lived in a house like this, I'm inclined to listen. its a valid point, especially when its more than just the two of us (guests and/or kids). even just making the open to below over the foyer instead of the tv/family/living room may solve that. I dunno yet. I'll have a chat w/ dh about it later. 4) dont' worry about insulation, the entire house is going to be wrapped in SIPS. initial calcs for the efficiency we are looking for are calling for 10" SIPS, whereas almost everyone uses 6". No worries, this house will be tight (and require mechanical ventilation). we are focusing heavily on the envelope, so our budget is focused on SIPS and windows. I may even hae to sacrifice my nice kitchen initially (blasphemy!) in order to pay for it up front, but we'll see. liriodendron - that's awesome that you are using PV. the price is coming down, so its actually starting to make sense to pay for it, instead of just being for people like dh and me, who just have non-mainstream tastes and interest (energy nuts, sort of:) the property was logged 5 years before we bought it, so it doesn't have many trees (no trees anywhere near the home site) (and its an ugly mess, we've just now started re-planting). the south facing garage roof will have full sun all day. if it weren't for that, we would angle the house more, so the back faces the mountains a bit better, but we didn't want to sacrifice the front/south wall of the house with respect to facing the sun too much. we like PV just cause we think its neat, and we're trying hard to justify it, but it may be a few years down the road before we consider actually paying for it.

Zep516, Thanks for all your help. I've tried to follow all your instructions. I downloaded the file from the link you provided, unzipped it, and re-booted the computer. Then did the uninstall of the realtek audio driver from the device manager, and again re-booted - and it gave me a 'fouund new hardware' message. Plus I then went back to the device manager and the driver was listed, but still no sound. I think I'm about ready to give up trying. Might try getting a sound card - or may just take this thing to a local computer shop that does free diagnostic with a quote on repair cost. They seem nice. My stepdaughter bought a lenovo laptop from them about a year and half ago. I considered doing that but instead thought I'd just give her some money for her old computer (this one)as it had the power supply, and mother board replaced under warranty. Thought I'd be saving some $$. WRONG! This was of course before I knew about the sound prob. My husband then surprised me with a nice new monitor. Very sweet of him, but now I'm wishing that I had just let him put that money towards a new laptop instead of a monitor. If you were not able to do a lot yourself to computers, would you invest anymore in this one (it seems fine except the sound) or just bite the bullet and get a new one? Tough question I know, but just curious your opinion and not really asking you to make the decision for me. Whatever I do, it won't be anytime soon - a little short on $$ right now. What brand of computer (lower end $$) do you think is most dependable? I've been told Toshiba is o.k., but to stay away from Compaq and HP. What do you think, or do you care to say? Thanks, Frances

Try using two distinct HTML files: on the first one write your "to be hide" code and, on the second one, call the first one using the #include clause (you can found more explanations about this clause on the web).

Do you really think your html coding is that important? well there is a java script for no right click if you dont want anyone to save your images. And you can use CSS web pages to hide some of the coding. Even better now is that you can put encoding on your pages so if you catch someone using your "copyrighted" stuff, you can prove they took it from you.

Hi,
I don't know what browser you are exactly using,
but when using IE5.01 or even NN 4.03 I have no trouble at all looking at the source. OK the page uses frames to display other pages, but this shouldn't bother any one of viewing the HTML content of those pages.
As already stated before, HTML can not be hidden, since it is an essential part of the page. HTML tags are "commands" needed for the browser to read the page and display it appropriately

You can't. The browser needs the HTML to render the page and there is no way to disable the view source item in the menu. And no-right-click scripts are dishonest, show arrogance, and are worthless because a view source item is usually in the Edit menu, which does not need to be right-clicked.

They have scripts that will scramble your code. Just insert your code into the box, hit scramble and copy the scrambled code to your webpage.

When you do a View Source, your code will be jibberish, but the system recognizes the commands.

Only trouble is that you will have to paste the scrambled code back into the decoder in order to work on it again.

Yeah those right click and combined left click are all useless, the only way is to use Flash, even if you cant get view source you can use a bot to get the info.

Microsoft Front Page = Source codes!
Netscape Composer = Source codes!

IE V6.0 can still view source codes!

so is it really worth hiding? hm.

Two simple ways are:

1) Use http://www.angelfire.com/geek/esfiles/ to generate your image into java applet. NO Right Click Here :)

2) Use flash to generate design. No More Source Code Here :)

Ever wonder "too easy" is right under your sleeve :)

Ever wonder to pay or not to pay :)

In conclude if you know how to use Microsoft word, then it should be a walk in the park :)

++++Update----

You can't hide anything online!

However, you can make it harder to steal, but, this only work for newbie!

1) At www.swishzone.com you can build flash without knowing flash, very simple, and yes, you can even crack it!

2) Source codes are everywhere, you can hide it, but then there will always be another site out there. "if you are good at it, then why bother to hide!"

3) Even if you put it in css or jsp people can still download the whole thing and open it.

4) If i want to steal a picture, I can use the printscreen command on my keyboard!

So there is nothing to hide alright!

Now email me if you want to make money online :)

It is true: the source becomes very blurry because of the use of xml and styles and such. But still readeble, and still clear enough to get the links to pics or what so ever...

Folks, using server side includes doesn't hide the code. The output to the browser contains everything on the page, including whatever was included. In other words, the file gets included then sent to the browser, so when you view source, you do NOT see the "include" statement -- you DO see the actual file which was included.

Unless you are claiming something new and want to grab the intellectual rights to it, that is.

The Internet exists because MOST people want to freely disseminate information throughout the world.

That's how we keep the Saddam Hussein's, Hitler's, and George Bush's from ruling the world.

Hiding source code is in the realm of large corporations and governments.

Please- because I am so computer dumb....I saw your post.
Why would you hide your html?
Is it because someone could steal/hack?
Is it because you don't want someone to know the origin of the site or email?
Or is this something else?
I thought that anything you put into a site/email/computer could be retrieved- that it can always be tracked.

Kinda the way I feel too. Ironically, that encrypted page would likely be served by Apache.
