Protecting My Web Page Photos?

I have a web site that contains photos of mainly Savannah Georgia.

Does anyone know the code to use so that when visitors right click on my photos, they are not able to save them?

The NO-Right click Java script does not keep people from saving the pictures. they can always do a screen save to get the pictures. The only thing that will deter most people from downloading is either a watermark on the picture or having the picture cut up into sections.

They will also be in a person's Cache

iris_gal sorry I had the wrong parentage on the SDB plicata. It is more on the violet side than the photo. Had a very small bloom in 07. Didn't bloom last year as all SDBs were replanted then. Beats me I have never used Chubby Cheeks. Shadow the icons were my first web page they were fun to make. I still use the seedling template in Database Oasis. I have changed the " My Iris" one. New one has a more better location thing. Will change the web page soon using it. Mike G Mike G

Beautiful as always, Mike. Are all the new ones on page 3? I can't tell if there are new ones in between the older ones on pages 1 & 2. My favorites on page 3 are: 09TP-64, 09TS-67, and 09TW-71. As luck would have it, all three of them seem (judged, of course, through this screen looking at a single photo) to have disproportionately small standards. Those with (seemingly) better proportion/form don't seem to have such unusual coloration. On second thought, I do like 09TM-61 and it seems to be more balanced. All said, I see something in all of them. Thank-you for sharing.

clearing the cache on IE has nothing to do with firefox you must clear them in firefox also, are you using the latest version of firefox? to know the version at the top click on help and about firefox. To clear the cache in firefox look under tools and see if you have an option there that says clear recent history near the bottom of the list, if yes click that and a box opens asking what all you want to clear I clear everything but the site preferences on mine also at the top of that box is a time range with a drop down arrow you can choose everything. The other way to do it is go to Tools Preferences/options then the security tab check where it says clear history when firefox closes then over to the right click on settings in that box select what you want to clear you can then close firefox and open it and it will clear all that you selected, now if you do not want it to do that every time you close firefox go back in there and un check to do it every time firefox closes, or just select for it to clear the cache each time it closes which is what I do. I agree with Bob414 it sounds like you have that page set to always open in IEview in your firefox browser you have to change that setting or it will continue to do that.

First if you're connected to a modem and router, un-plug them both for a min or so. Replug the modem in. Wait for all lights to come up and then re-plug router in. See if the helps. I'd also run the TFC Below as outlined: Clean out your temporary internet files and temp files. Download TFC by OldTimer From here click Here to your desktop. Double-click TFC.exe to run it. Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator TFC will close all programswhen run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin * Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process. * Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. * Please let TFC run uninterrupted until it is finished. Once TFC is finished it should restart your computer. If it does not, please manually restart the computer yourself to ensure a complete cleaning.

Besides you don't have to right click in IE 6 to save the picture.

There are many ways to get around right click disabling (those mentioned here, plus viewing source, finding the image link, and putting that in your browser). All right click disabling does is annoy experienced (and even some unexperienced users). If you are truly worried about someone stealing your images, then don't put them in a public place for downloading.

While posting uncompressed TIF's of full-resolution drum scans of your images will lead to some theft and loss, is it really dangerous for someone to steal 300x450 JPG? I just put a border around the image with my email and a small copyright. Sure someone could yank it off easily and display it, but not really for anything other than use on their web page. It works pretty well to just ask them nicely not to use the images without permission.

Always remember; virtually anyone serious enough to be willing to pay good money for photography is probably not the type of person who would go through the hassle of stealing a low-quality shot off a webpage and adapting it to their purposes. :-)
