posting jpeg photographs on website

I have to add about 20 jpeg photos to a school website but I'm sure many of the people who will view the site have slower machines than me. I made up an html page with all the jpegs on it in thumbnail size. Should I now just have the pictures like to a page with only say 3 on each page that will show each pic in a decent size? Is there a good way to do this?

Just make sure your thumbnails are different smaller pictures. I have seen some people just change the size of the picture in the code and that doesn't help with the down load. To do this you will have to make a web page for each set of pictures and link to it from the thumbnail page. It would be easier if you had a program that would do it for you. If you have Netscape there is a webpage composer in it that is great for beginners.

Here's how I did thumbnails on one of my pages:
Model horses

I just tell people to use their back button, one picture per page. Then I don't have ho make up a whole separate page for each picture.

Yeah I had trouble the last time I was trying to post but I can't find myself anywhere in that old post so I don't know what don told me to do to correct it. Photobucket has like 4 different types of images to chose from and I've put everyone of them in between those brackets and none of them have worked. When you post an image you can see it when you hit preview right? Because every time I hit preview all I get is the http figure between those 2 little so I don't get it. Strouper

This is another recent find: My stepmother, age 3, with her maternal grandmother in Scotland. The back of the photo says "Marion with Wee Granny." I guess this grandmother wasn't very tall. :-) Wee Granny's name was Marion Orr Hughes. Her daughter Mary emigrated to America with her new husband shortly after their wedding. They returned with their children--a boy, 4, and a girl, 3--for a visit several years later, but never went back after that. It must have been so hard for the parents in the old country . . . no email, no Skype, no jet travel. I've often thought the same thing about the parents of American pioneers. To see their grown children and grandchildren venture out in a covered wagon, not knowing what might befall them. Anyway, here's little Marion and big (or not) Marion.

You could also make each mini picture open in a new window by adding TARGET="_blank"

The code would look like this: (I used your 1st picture as a sample)

<A HREF="0333.jpg" TARGET="_blank"><IMG SRC="mini-033.jpg" BORDER="0"></A>

Then the user can simple close the bigger picture when s/he's done and the mini pictures will still be in another browser.
