How Activate Closed Caption?

| We have set up CC-1 on our TV. Now we get CC on DVD's but don't get it on any program recorded on our HD-DVR from Directv. Is there another step we need to take? |

| at our house (we have a panasonic hd plasma and hd cable) - the cc is on the cable remote ... nothing to do with the tv at all (unlike when we watch a dvd). try using the directv remote to turn on captions. |
