Earthquake straps for speakers on stands

Living in California, I am concerned about my heavy bookshelf speakers on stands falling down in an earthquake. I am looking for ideas on how to secure the speakers using straps or whatever works. I searched online with no success. Please share your thoughts or solutions. Thanks.

RE: Earthquake straps for speakers on stands

Look in the child / baby proofing area of a store like Wal-Mart or Target. They make straps that are designed to prevent baby from pulling dressers or other topheavy furniture over on themselves. That may work for the speakers you describe.
