| Hi,
I have a Philips DVP620VR combination DVD/VCR, that I bought second hand on the assurance that it was fully functional. When I try to play a DVD, I get the error message "Playback feature may not be available on this disc." (The VCR works fine, and all of the DVDs I tried work on my other stand alone DVD player.) The net says that this 'may be' the result of having the wrong regional code; however, my menus and setup do not even mention this code; and ..... I'm not even sure if this is the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, ....... john |

| I had a Phillips DVD player and returned it. It would only play DVD's that were coded "1" (US). I have many Euro DVD's, Germany, Holland, Former Checzk Republic and they played great on my old DVD player (LG) which did not have a "code detector" in it. Try a DVD that you know is code 1 (US)., and thank Hollywood for the freaking code detector!!! Gary |
