Is Amazon an authorized dealer for Panasonic?

A friend wants to buy a Panasonic plasma panel from Amazon, but is concerned whether they're an authorized dealer for manufacturer warranty purposes.

Anybody know?

RE: Is Amazon an authorized dealer for Panasonic?

As long as it's "A" stock brand new, and the listing details full manufacturers warranty, there should be no problem. Amazon is really a sale portal. They do sell things directly when it says shipping from Amazon, but much of their stuff is coming directly from other vendors, so you have to be aware of who you are actually getting the item from (it's always listed). There are a lot of plasmas on sale now that do not have a HDMI connection and other newer features at a big discount to the 1080P/HDMI models. Panasonic makes one of thee best plasmas.
