Uggggggh. I am now pretty sure it was a chalcid wasp. I looked at another one of my chrysalises - this one formed just a few days ago. I read online to look for black dots on the chrysalis, indicating where the wasp injected the eggs, and there they are :( I am going to take any of the caterpillars that are now looking to attach and move them to a safe container that has the vents covered with cut up pantyhose. I'll give them a quick water rinse first to knock off any lurking wasps. My other caterpillars, BSTs and TSTs, will also be moved to safe containers. I'm so bummed about this, but at least I learned something new and know what to look for. I would have had a heart attack if hundreds of wasps came out of my chrysalises! Click photo to enlarge. Those random small black dots do not belong there :( If I have the courage, I will cut open the first chrysalis in this post and take photos. I will leave it in the freezer for a few more days to ensure that anything in there is dead before I cut it open!

all my houseplants are taken outside in early fall.. and treated with a systemic granular media based product.. and left to do that job outside ... and a few weeks later.. they are all brought back in the house.. and remain bug free for the rest of winter ... if you decide to use such ... make sure the label notes it can be used on mites ... as some insecticides may not work on mites .. some do.. some dont ... they arent insects ... an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.. isolate this plant from all other plants ... asap and btw... those leaves wont look pretty again ... so you will have to watch new growth.. to tell if you have an ongoing issue .. when it stays clean.. the plant is clean .... ken btw.. great pix ....

Bluebell, I am truly sorry for your loss. Certainly did not mean to be rude-actually just the opposite, but in the way I wrote my comment I can see why you thought that. I am sorry. I am very concerned and interested because, Woodrose is right, there are many concerns with the way Remdesivir is being used on patients right now. If it is not used in the beginning, it can do harm. More and more info is coming out about it. However, you did post medical information in that, he was vaccinated and died of Covid-on the internet. So, my asking that didn't seem any more intrusive than what you stated already, but I did not come across very well, you are right. I guess I was just doing a little personal research due to a situation my best friend had recently. My best friend's husband, 10 years her senior, was in ICU for Covid last month and made it home finally, and the doctors were wanting to give him Remdesivir and she told them no way, because he had already had Covid for about two weeks at that point. She probably saved his life-from the doctors who wanted to give him Remdesivir after waiting too long at that point to where it could do harm. edited

what happened to your ability to post pix.. i swear since you moved to philly.. you refuse to post pix .. i agree with embo.. im not going to rely on your internet diagnosis of the problem .. post us pix.. and see if we can verify your suspicions.. or talk to your local COUNTY extension office.. and ask them to diagnose the issue properly ... and then suggest remedy .. other than just throwing that thing away... ken
