Tooth pull and on blood thinner

does anyone know if they can pull my tooth because i have been up all nite with two of teeth hurting so so bad.I am on blood thinner and a aspirn a day.Can they pull them .I need help today.I am already on antibodic and pain med and nothing helps.I am in alot of pain.Thanks Judy

Judy, my dad has to take a blood thinner but he was asked not to take it for a day or so before he had back surgery. I think you may be able to not take it just for today.... ask your dentist and also your doctor who prescribes the blood thinner -- don't just take my word for it.

I might be too late - but Judy, I take blood thinners too. Ask your dentist what he recommends. They are very familiar with the situation as many folks take blood thinners. I've had dental work done with no problem. Dentists have local bleed-reduction stuff. But tooth pulling may be more bleeding than they want you to go through. Call your dentist and ask. He or she may want to check with your physician about your specifics also.

Holes can heal on their own.....when a blood clot seals the small hole. (I "had" a dental assist. cert. at one time) 3 months is usual to wait and see...if it heals on it's own. Then surgery to close it. If there's an infection...? ....then Antibiotics should be taken prior to treatment. This is NOT to be taken lightly. Your dentist's receptionist should be calling YOU for updates, to put in your records and relay to the dentist who's over seeing your procedure.

Hi everyone - I'm really hoping someone can give me some advice. My cat, Bobby, will be a year old in a few weeks, we got him at 12 weeks and he has always been very happy and healthy. However, we got a new kitten, Alfie, a week and a half ago. Alfie was 9 and a half weeks when we got him so still very young. As soon as we brought him home, we realised he was sneezing A LOT. A couple of nights ago we realised that he'd been sneezing blood! I did some research online and found this post - which has really worried me. I booked a vets appointment straight away. I then noticed, 2 days ago that Bobby had started sneezing too... not blood as far as I can tell, my he looks really poorly. I took both cats to the vets yesterday - the lady just gave them both a shot of antibiotics and said to wait and see how they are in 2 weeks - they both had temperatures of 102.5/102.9. They are both eating well/going to the loo fine and playing together but the sneezing is still bad. If it was life threatening - would Bobby have caught it?? I'm hoping it's just a little infection which will clear but I've also read that infections in cats can last a lifetime. I hate the feeling that my little Alfie may be at risk, and even more that Bobby may now also have caught something serious. I would really appreciate any advice! Jo

Hi Casey and bobsmyuncle, *thanks* for the recommendations! The price range is good, and I like the idea of replacement blades. Which one(s) you want will depend upon what you want to do with them. Aye, that's so true, isn't it? :-) While I don't have a specific project in mind, I recall reading an article in This Old House some time this year where they were fitting wainscoting or something against an existing window stool and apron, and mentioned using a "Japanese pull saw". For the life of me, I cannot find that article now in my TOH issues on my shelf. What I do remember is thinking "wow, that would be handy to have". And another advantage for me is that I find that I have more muscle power in the "pull" motion than the push motion. I'm a girl, oops, I mean woman. :-) For some reason, I can pull more easily than push. Thanks again for this! --Lee

Not sure if you're still checking in here, but while your cat is healing I suggest you take the time and search out a new vet. Check reviews online of local vets, and talk to friends & neighbors. I would really question a vet's competence if he told me "the bad teeth would fall out on their own & not to worry!" No vet I've used, in the decades I've owned pets, would have ever said that. Glad to hear your cat was treated and is now healing. With a history of gingivitis you'll need to have him checked regularly for flare-ups and possible teeth problems. Best to have a vet that can guide you in his care.

i wanted to thank everone for their time.i turned out noone wanted to touch me unless i went in the hospital and came off blood thinner 5 days before they did any thing.i have been in LOTS of pain.So now my heart dr took me off and kept me on a aspirn and now i can start my teeth work,but i am trying to decide to try to keep my top teeth or just have them pulled and put false ones in.i have nothing but teeth aches all the time.i have several just broke off to the gum,they are very soft.one dentist told me she would if she was me just pull all that is left and use a plate [false] for the top,than my medical dr said let them replace the broken ones with a tooth that they use a screw to place in there.the brokens ares are what they call my eye teeth,or vein teeth.so i will have to decide.but i keep a tooth ache and it hurts to eat anything.seems all the nerves are on the tips of all my teeth.judy

My husband had oral surgery and was told not to take aspirin for a few days before.
