Comments (36)I didn't read the whole thread because it's very long but I wanted to tell you about my experience. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I thought Ebay was a good idea... Or maybe it was Amazon, I can't remember. Anyways, I bought the Premium but it turns out that it was pointless the "kit" I bought wasn't a whole kit, it didn't have as many strips as the full kit has. And THAT is why Premium costs more, I spent more money on something that was the exact same as the regular kit. Also, they sent them out of the box to "save me money on shipping" and so, there was no expiration date. I used them, they made no difference, didn't even burn like they did when I bought them the last time but from a store and I couldn't prove they were old because they no doubt lied about the expiration date. Be careful with your money. The ones I bought from the store actually did work though and they worked well. They didn't burn as much as the trays do....See Moredental night guard
Comments (1)This is a good reminder that anything like a night guard is well worth trying. Once the teeth are badly damaged, it's too late!!...See MoreTeeth clenching. I need to do something.
Comments (44)Joanie--Where do you live? There is a craniofacial pain center at Tufts dentistry school in Boston that is terrific for TMJ. Unfortunately TMK falls between the cracks " of medicine, physical therapy, dentistry, etc. And as someone said above, it has many different causes. Some of the things that a place like Tufts might suggest: - A night guard, but one specifically for TMJ. They're different from the ones made for grinding, although they help with that too. The TMJ guards have a protuberance on top that holds your lower jaw in a certain position. - Manipulative physical therapy. These are the folks who actually lay hands on you. For TMJ, the physical therapist snaps on some latex gloves and actually massages pressure points inside your mouth. There are several jaw muscles that are hard to manipulate and cannot be relaxed through stretching etc. This can be a huge help. (If you can't find one of these professionals locally, at least buy a book about trigger points.) - Posture work. Someone can show you on a demonstration skeleton how a problem with back posture, shoulders, hips, knees or even feet can cause you to hold the jaw in a bad position. For example, tilt your hips, and y our shoulders have to tilt in the opposite direction. Then your neck tilts sideways to compensate. It's the way we're built. Computer work is a particularly bad offender when it comes to posture. - Relaxation techniques. As someone said above, stress isn't a particularly good word here. You can be happy as a clam and get terrible neck or TMJ pain from working at a computer without good eyeglasses. There is lots that can be done....See MoreIs 'Blue Dragon' Worth The Money?
Comments (41)I dont HAVE any 'Little Dragon', unless someone is sending me one that I dont know about? I would be VERY happy to get an early/only X-Mas present of the dragon, or another fantasy one?? I like the blue with a raspberry edge. to me that is fantasy. Not like Cosmic art, or Cosmic Silk, but it is pretty and i want one. I am not stupid enough to buy one for OVER $45, like it just sold for on Ebay, for some reason. I still cant understand that!! Its like it was the first solid deep yellow, or first the first polka dotted violet. IF I manage to get the cash, and can place an order now with Lyons, i will, and get a Blue Dragon, they said they will ship to me, since I am in the deep south,as long as it is still not COLD up there, but sooner or later , they will have to start the winter shipping prices, and I WON'T pay that! They said it is triple the price. On EBay, when I just HAVE to get a violet, for some reason in like January, the add a heat pack to the box, for $2-4, why Lyons triples their price i dont understand. The violets I get in 'winter' from a cold place, always arrive in a hot box! The heat pack lasts for days, outside of the box, after it has arrived, I keep it around to see how long it lasts, and they last a long time and put out a lot of heat. . And the violets are alive and grow well. Never a problem. better packing in winter, it seems....See Morezeke
