I always figured that 4:1 was about ideal Ca:Mg ratio in containers. You shouldn't have any trouble if you're using the FP 9-3-6, if you incorporate 1/3-1/2 cup of lime per cu ft (about 8 gallons) of soil. If you plan on growing tomatoes & get some BER on early fruits, don't be dismayed. With your plan, it's almost certainly an issue related to physiology and not soil chemistry. Al

Good answer by wirosarian. It is important to know whether results are reported in pounds per acre or parts per million. The results page should say. Some experts say the ratios between potassium, magnesium, and calcium are significant. Others say it doesn't matter as long as there is enough of each. In your other thread you reported that calcium is nearly 20x the magnesium (very high ratio) and that magnesium was only slightly higher than pootassium (fairly low ratio). With your extreme calcium levels, it's possible that more magnesium could help by creating a more normal ratio. On the other hand, magnesium levels considered on their own are OK, depending on the unit being reported, so it may not matter. So that's why I said on the other thread that a moderate amount of ES wouldn't hurt in your case. I think you should do a test. Divide your roses into two groups. Divide the punier roses equally between the groups. Write down the groupings. Give one group 2 TB epsom salt in a gallon of water and the other group just a gallon of water. Then compare the groups in a month and see if there's a difference, especially in new basal growth. If you put ES on all your roses, you'll never know, and you'll probably be dooming yourself to repeating the ES ritual forever.

A few egg shells added to the bin will keep the ph about neutral. I don't like the idea of adding chemicals to worm bins. Marshall

Calcium Sulphate is called "gipsos" in Greek (the i is pronounced as in "link" and the intonation in the i).When you ask for "Gipsos" you say "Gipso"-"Ãýøï"(accusative not nominative). As for the epsom salts,it's uncommon here.You may find some in pharmacies or healthcare shops.They are called "Ãáèáñôéêà Ãëáôá ÃáãíçóÃïõ" or "Ãããëéêü ¶ëáò". You may want to use a more common product to decrease the Ph of your soil, which is cheap and easy to find.It is sulphuric iron or green vitriol or "karabogia" in Greek (the intonation in the second a, the a are pronounced as in "up", the i as in "in", the g as the Y in "yesterday". good luck
