weird heartbeat issue-Ahhhhhhhhhh!
Comments (22)Hi Andre, I'm here to tell you that for years, I felt like I had a small animal living in my chest. I saw several doctors and had alot of tests. I have GERD, but its under control. You might need an endoscopy, just to make sure your esophogus isn't erroded, but I don't think its necessary at this point. I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). My intestines are very weird, fluctuating between diarrhea and constipation, gas, tons of pressure, burping, and constant activity/noise in my intestines. For me, my chest seems to be the focal point of my intestinal craziness. That's what I mean about feeling like I have a small animal living in my chest. I think some of us are very sensitive to internal sensations. I think some of us feel gas/food moving in our intestines, and it can be transmitted up into our chest. Our stomach is really very high up in our chests and many times, its easy to confuse feelings occurring in the stomach, with feelings in our heart/chest. I'm wondering if that's what you're feeling. I know that when I quit eating in the evening, I didn't spend the night with funky things going on inside me, and I would also get a better night's sleep. I think it would be a very good habit for you to get into, to quit eating after dinner. I know its hard, but I think you'd feel alot better......and sleep better. Did you know that our intestines are called "the second brain" because they secrete alot of neurochemicals, just like our brain does? When your intestines are working all night to digest the food you ate all evening........its going to keep you awake. I'm a compulsive eater, but seem to have gotten it under control most of the time. What's interesting is that when I overeat, or eat too many carbs, or eat in the evening, my CPAP machine shows that I don't sleep well.......even if I'm not aware of it. Anyhow.......sorry to get off on a tangent. But I just wanted to mention how sensitive some of us are to the goings-on in our intestines. Some of those sensations can feel like they are coming from the heart/chest. It should be interesting if an irregular beat showed up on the holter, when you sensed something. There are lots of things to do for GERD that don't even involve any tests or even seeing a doctor. Do an internet search on it, and you'll learn all the things you can do to lessen it. Also check out IBS and see if you have any of those symptoms. You also might be developing an intolerance to dairy or wheat. Try cutting back on your carbs. Keep us posted....See Morestrange head sensations
Comments (41)Ladies, How are you all today? I'm feeling much better, thanks and I hope I can bring you some hope, too. Since my last post, I've had a rough time. I can honestly say I have been through as dark a valley as I've ever been in before. I have definitely used this to get closer to my Lord and there is at least that. My doctor put me on blood pressure meds because mine was 185/90, but it was both a cause and effect thing, I think. Other that that, she found nothing. No fluid in the ears, no infection, and all my blood work came back normal. Good news bad news there, right? The good news is your levels are normal. The bad news is YOUR LEVELS ARE NORMAL, SO NOW WHAT?? It's not thyroid, it's not female hormones, anemia, infection, etc. etc. She gave me antibiotics anyway at my insistence, because I was convinced I might have a closed dental infection which could help explain all of this, right? Yeah, so today, I went to the dentist for just x rays. Guess what they showed? NOTHING. Seriously?? I told him about all this stuff; he said, "Nothing's impossible, but I don't see anything at all here which would cause dizziness or the full head feeling." He gave me more antibiotics (just in case) and off I went, home to cry in despair. Did I mention that I quit a 25 year smoking habit the day I got the blood pressure meds? Yep, I felt so bad and was so convinced I was having a stroke that I just put 'em down. My husband then found stuff on the internet to suggest strongly that I was having major withdrawal from that, on top of everything else. Whee. Anyway, the second Dr.I saw at a clinic here in my little town suggested I might have had a virus, which I dismissed at first, but after I got over my crying fit after the dentist today, I started searching online more. I hadn't been doing much of that; it tends to cause anxiety, doesn't it? :) I found this: http://www.healthboards.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-65960.html Doesn't this sound like what we've been experiencing?? It feels right to me. I'm not saying there's not other stuff involved, too. I do think so. But I also think that for me, at least, this is a partial answer at least. There's a link from there to a page of vertigo-type exercises to do; other than that, it's just wait until you get over it. I'm feeling much better, but it has been a month and I'm still not "normal" yet. I no longer want to eat a bullet, though, and that's more than wonderful. I hope this turns the light on at the end of the tunnel for some of you guys. I sure appreciated all your posts here. It always helps when you know someone understands....See MoreNoticing Perimenopause Symptoms - Armpit Pain?
Comments (107)Hello everyone, I too have been experiencing all of the above and have spent countless hours and days worrying and scouring the internet for answers. I was overjoyed to stumble upon you all here and learn that I am not alone or losing my mind. A little info about me.... I am a 45 year old woman who started peri & menopause early!! I started at age 38/39 and had no clue what on earth was going on with me. The usual menopausal symptoms were downright awful but like the rest of you, I suffered through the whole time thinking “ok new symptom, dying again of some mysterious illness or I seriously need my head checked.” Fast forward.... I had my last menstrual cycle right after my 44th birthday (so over a year now) and I have to say the menopausal symptoms have lessened overall thankfully. Then SUDDENLY, about 2 months ago, just when I thought the worst was behind me, my body introduces to me, a new scary “oh no I’m dying again” symptom. THE ARMPIT ACHE!! I had just finished my routine physical, pap, mammogram, breast ultrasound, had bloodwork and urine tests done as well.... all came back normal. I was so relieved!!! However, my armpit ache started right after that, within a few days, which threw me for a loop. I thought ok maybe I strained a muscle working out?? Maybe I’m feeling after effects from the Mammogram “trauma”??? No clue and of course, panic starts to set in!! Over the course of 2 weeks, the ache in my armpit (right side for me) became an ache in the right shoulder, ache in my right breast and some days the ache even extended all the way down my right arm. It really is terrifying and consuming when you don’t know what’s going on or why and the Doctors can’t find anything either. So I started experimenting with different things to hopefully find a remedy or at least some peace of mind. Fast forward again..... long story short.... I accidentally stumbled upon a video on YouTube regarding Magnesium deficiency and it’s symptoms and I thought hmmmm, could it be my issue?? So I started taking Magnesium supplements and within 24 hours, my armpit ache started to disappear!! I have been taking the Magnesium faithfully every day for a few weeks now and I can say the ache is 95% gone and most days I don’t even remember having it at all. I don’t know if it’s merely a coincidence or if the magnesium really helped but I felt compelled to share my findings with you all in the hopes that it may help you as well. Side note, I had just started taking other supplements approx 2 weeks before the aching started so I thought perhaps they too may have been the culprit so I stopped taking them completely. (Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin C). 1 week later, I started Magnesium which I had never taken before!! Just to clarify. Together, we will get through this. Anita...See MorePerimenopause pains
Comments (19)Hi Rudo, hope you are doing ok. Yes, you really need to get up every now and then, even to just go to restroom and take a stretch. I work with a computer a lot and my shoulders get so tense they hurt if i forget to stretch. Once I get home I have to do a little bit of tai Chi and that helps a lot. Any slow, measured movement will do, you dont have to know Tai Chi. But on the other hand, it sounds like you have something else going on, do you use a lot of salt in your diet? Seems your body is retaining water a lot, which can be normal if you sit a lot but I see you also have elevated BP, so that could be the culprit, is BP under control?. Lay off caffeine and try herbal teas. I know you said you walk a lot but don't overdo it, take a break sometimes and do different kind of exercise, like bike (recumbent one is great for leg circulation and nice cardio, plus saves your back). Key word is moderation. :) With our messed up metabolism its very easy to overdo and I find that is never a good thing. Strenuous exercise is as easy to bring on anxiety attack as any other kind of stress so we have to find a way to mellow. :) let me know if I can help with anythign else. Have a wonderful day, hugs :)...See Moresuzieque
