strange head sensations
Comments (41)Ladies, How are you all today? I'm feeling much better, thanks and I hope I can bring you some hope, too. Since my last post, I've had a rough time. I can honestly say I have been through as dark a valley as I've ever been in before. I have definitely used this to get closer to my Lord and there is at least that. My doctor put me on blood pressure meds because mine was 185/90, but it was both a cause and effect thing, I think. Other that that, she found nothing. No fluid in the ears, no infection, and all my blood work came back normal. Good news bad news there, right? The good news is your levels are normal. The bad news is YOUR LEVELS ARE NORMAL, SO NOW WHAT?? It's not thyroid, it's not female hormones, anemia, infection, etc. etc. She gave me antibiotics anyway at my insistence, because I was convinced I might have a closed dental infection which could help explain all of this, right? Yeah, so today, I went to the dentist for just x rays. Guess what they showed? NOTHING. Seriously?? I told him about all this stuff; he said, "Nothing's impossible, but I don't see anything at all here which would cause dizziness or the full head feeling." He gave me more antibiotics (just in case) and off I went, home to cry in despair. Did I mention that I quit a 25 year smoking habit the day I got the blood pressure meds? Yep, I felt so bad and was so convinced I was having a stroke that I just put 'em down. My husband then found stuff on the internet to suggest strongly that I was having major withdrawal from that, on top of everything else. Whee. Anyway, the second Dr.I saw at a clinic here in my little town suggested I might have had a virus, which I dismissed at first, but after I got over my crying fit after the dentist today, I started searching online more. I hadn't been doing much of that; it tends to cause anxiety, doesn't it? :) I found this: http://www.healthboards.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-65960.html Doesn't this sound like what we've been experiencing?? It feels right to me. I'm not saying there's not other stuff involved, too. I do think so. But I also think that for me, at least, this is a partial answer at least. There's a link from there to a page of vertigo-type exercises to do; other than that, it's just wait until you get over it. I'm feeling much better, but it has been a month and I'm still not "normal" yet. I no longer want to eat a bullet, though, and that's more than wonderful. I hope this turns the light on at the end of the tunnel for some of you guys. I sure appreciated all your posts here. It always helps when you know someone understands....See MoreNoticing Perimenopause Symptoms - Armpit Pain?
Comments (107)Hello everyone, I too have been experiencing all of the above and have spent countless hours and days worrying and scouring the internet for answers. I was overjoyed to stumble upon you all here and learn that I am not alone or losing my mind. A little info about me.... I am a 45 year old woman who started peri & menopause early!! I started at age 38/39 and had no clue what on earth was going on with me. The usual menopausal symptoms were downright awful but like the rest of you, I suffered through the whole time thinking “ok new symptom, dying again of some mysterious illness or I seriously need my head checked.” Fast forward.... I had my last menstrual cycle right after my 44th birthday (so over a year now) and I have to say the menopausal symptoms have lessened overall thankfully. Then SUDDENLY, about 2 months ago, just when I thought the worst was behind me, my body introduces to me, a new scary “oh no I’m dying again” symptom. THE ARMPIT ACHE!! I had just finished my routine physical, pap, mammogram, breast ultrasound, had bloodwork and urine tests done as well.... all came back normal. I was so relieved!!! However, my armpit ache started right after that, within a few days, which threw me for a loop. I thought ok maybe I strained a muscle working out?? Maybe I’m feeling after effects from the Mammogram “trauma”??? No clue and of course, panic starts to set in!! Over the course of 2 weeks, the ache in my armpit (right side for me) became an ache in the right shoulder, ache in my right breast and some days the ache even extended all the way down my right arm. It really is terrifying and consuming when you don’t know what’s going on or why and the Doctors can’t find anything either. So I started experimenting with different things to hopefully find a remedy or at least some peace of mind. Fast forward again..... long story short.... I accidentally stumbled upon a video on YouTube regarding Magnesium deficiency and it’s symptoms and I thought hmmmm, could it be my issue?? So I started taking Magnesium supplements and within 24 hours, my armpit ache started to disappear!! I have been taking the Magnesium faithfully every day for a few weeks now and I can say the ache is 95% gone and most days I don’t even remember having it at all. I don’t know if it’s merely a coincidence or if the magnesium really helped but I felt compelled to share my findings with you all in the hopes that it may help you as well. Side note, I had just started taking other supplements approx 2 weeks before the aching started so I thought perhaps they too may have been the culprit so I stopped taking them completely. (Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin C). 1 week later, I started Magnesium which I had never taken before!! Just to clarify. Together, we will get through this. Anita...See MoreFrustrated with insurance!
Comments (52)https://www.cadth.ca/generic-drugs/similarities-and-differences-between-brand-name-and-generic-drugs "Bioequivalent drug formulations have the same bioavailability; that is, the same rate and extent of ABSORPTION.... There is a common misperception that generic drug concentrations can be 80% to 125% of the brand name formulation; in other words, that the variance may be up to 45%. This is not true. One of the key parameters for bioequivalence is the area under the curve (AUC). The AUC is a mathematical calculation based on a graph of blood concentration versus time, and it correlates well with total drug exposure. The AUC of a generic formulation must be no less than 80% or no more than 125% of the brand name formulation. There is international consensus that differences within this range are not clinically significant. More importantly, the 90% confidence interval of the AUC must also fall within 80% to 125%. Recall that the confidence interval is a range of measurements within which we can be confident that the true result lies. So, for the entire confidence interval to fall within the 80% to 125% range, the variance is generally less than 5%."...See MoreHave you had a charley horse before?
Comments (56)Oakley - hope all is well with you. I developed DVT after a C-section years ago and needed anticoagulant injections. Before my knee replacement I had blood studies done to see if I had a clotting disorder - fortunately I didn't. Lascatx - i had both knees replaced at the same time 12 years ago and didn't use continuous cold therapy - probably because I stayed in the hospital for several days and then a physical therapy center for re-hab for 5 more days. I didn't have any complications but it is important to follow directions and do the therapy. The part I found surprising was how slow the initial progress was the first week. They do get you up and walking very quickly but it was the actual exercises where they measure your range of motion in inches and degrees that seemed slow to me. DS had a nasty fall while skiing a few years which required major repair work to his knee. He bought one that looks like this and thought it was very helpful. Because of all the soft tissue damage he often has swelling around the knee after riding his bike or hiking and will use it. Wishing you and your DH an uneventful surgery and recovery. And if it helps at all the pain is manageable. My worst problem was sleeping at night since I usually sleep on my side but with both knees done I had to sleep on my back. One neighbor just had his done and slept in his Lazy Boy for the first couple nights.
