glaucoma - narrow angle...
Comments (2)Well, I had the laser surgery, the thought of losing my sight either slowly or rapidly helped in the decision. Unfortunately, I'm still unclear as to whether this glaucoma narrow angle is CURED, or it can repeat. I do know that I will be frequenting the eye specialists very often, considering the idea of spending a day at surgery with people who were double my age, and shocked to see me there! Still don't have the answers I'm looking for! T...See Morei am an old member...eye surgery, anxiety
Comments (25)Dorie...I will be thinking and praying for you TUES. and without a doubt I will check back to see how it went, but planning on breakfast with hubby right after sounds like you are planning on having a good time no matter what...LOL! nanny98...I get anxious just thinking about a cat scan or anything like it! I was envisioning such procedures last week trying to practice what it may be like and couldn't get through the practice. :( sleeperblues, justgotabme and louiseab...I've never taken anything for my anxiety...I avoid everything I can (ending up a real homebody!) I did take some Bach's Rescue Remedy the day of my pre-op tests as I was even dreading those, for goodness sakes! socks12345....I am going to call my Primary Dr. and see if she can give me something and I'll call the Eye Clinic and see how close to the surgery I can take it, too. I'll do that a first thing Tues. ruthieg, grandmamary, phoggie, liz_ga and tami_ohio...thanks for all the well-wishes and encouragement...it help, really! (Tami...I know about being close and never getting together...like I said I'm pretty much a homebody and only go when absolutely have to or on a good day for me. Thanks for asking, though.) ont_gal...I will be back to let ya all know how it went as soon as I'm seeing and feeling good enough to do so! Thanks again, everyone! Reminder for prayers: Fri. the 5th: right eye and Fri. the 19th left eye (and ANXIETY most of all!) nola_anne...See MoreAnyone had knee surgery for torn meniscus?

Should'a had my surgery in JH!!! That way, I could've done my rehab at the Four-Seasons there....;-) DW & I walked through there in July 2013. Were staying in West-Yellowstone, but drove thru YNP one day, then down to JH. MIMI- I bet you've got lotsa rehab stories you could tell!!? My CPM-Machine was on when I woke up...I THINK... If not, it was on soon afterward! You also reminded me that I had started "Pre-replacement" exercises 2 months b4 surgery too! "Go in stronger" was kinda their mantra... Comments (15)Thanks all for your feedback, it's great to hear real life experiences. I tried monovision contacts in 2007 and was not able to tolerate them per my paper chart and ophthalmologist yesterday. I do not remember this but he read his note to me. I have worn multi focal contact lenses for many years and realize the trade offs that are made with them. Either distance vision is good or close up--take your pick. I also know that the prescription that the doctor thinks will be the best fit isn't always the one that the vision is best with. So that scares me in having something implanted that may not be the exact correct lens. It was good to hear that so many of you opted for a single vision lens. If I did not work basically 13 hour shifts in a very dry hospital environment I would be able to wear my contacts the majority of my waking hours. On my off days I am able to wear them for 6-12 hours. I do have one eye cauterized and a tear duct plug in the other for the dry eyes. My glaucoma drops irritate the eyes as a side effect also. I would love to be able to get a pair of glasses that did not have thick expensive lenses in them. I have always looked younger than my age and the younger RN's think I'm lying when I tell them how old I am, it also helps I was mid 30' s when I had my daughters. I feel glasses make me look older with my current hairstyle. Picture not of me but from Style at a Certain Age blog. I look similar to this with a little more black in my hair. http://www.styleatacertainage.com/skin-care-regimen-prescriptives/ Thanks all for your thoughts. Keep them coming. I will definitely keep all updated when I do something....See MoreJudith
