Mandrin1~ Close up of what Rosemarie Oil has done for my plants!
Comments (21)Hi Beth. Welcome! I use Fish Emulsion as soon as I can get my plants outside as a preventative on any possible sucking insect and it works for me. I spray with it at least once a month now and more so before I bring them in for the winter. I have no pest issues with the trees I treat except for mites after a long period indoors if the winter is extremely dry and cold, which it has been. Too, I forget to treat a plant or two before bringing them in such as my Olive Tree because I left it out way beyond my other plants and it will get attacked by mites which can spread to surrounding plants. At least every other pest that seems to attack many others trees such as Mealy, Thrips, and Scale are not a problem at all and I thank the Fish Emulsion for this. Now that I can't spray with F.E in my home, I have to watch for mites at least since especially towards the end of winter. Now I have been using Rosemary Oil because they are indoors, and the stuff smells good too and it has done wonders for my trees. Not a one mite damaged leaf to be found after a month on any of my plants and just because I don't seem to have a problem anymore, I'll treat again once a month until I can stick them outside again to be safe. Then once outside, I'll start using Fish Emulsion again. :-) Mike...See Moreomega3???
Comments (3)You can get omega 3 from certain oily fish e.g. salmon or certain seeds e.g. flax seeds (or flax oil or Udo's oil - I take a tablespoon of udo's oil every day and sprinkle sunflower and flax seeds in my cereal) I cut and paste this info from an article but there is lots of info out there on this subject, type it into a search engine and you fill find loadds of links: The chart below gives the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids youÂd expect to find in a fish. About 20% of the Omega-3 fatty acids in these fish will be EPA, so you need to get about 6g of Omega-3Âs to reach the Âprevention level. This is equivalent to eating 250g of mackerel a week. Fish (3.5oz, 100g, uncooked) Omega 3s (g) Mackerel, Atlantic 2.5 Herring, Atlantic 1.7 Tuna, Bluefin 1.2 Salmon, Coho 1.0 Turbot (flatfish) 0.9 Bass, striped 0.8 Trout, rainbow 0.7 Shrimp 0.5 Halibut, Pacific 0.4 Flounder*/Sole 0.2 *Analysis on cooked fish...See Moreomega 3 anyone?
Comments (17)Haven't noticed a change in mood yet, but it's only been 2 weeks. Mood swings as I age have become unbearable and if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open to them. Also looking at purchasing a product called Fem Meds, but it's only available online, so I'm a bit wary. I'm a teacher and this is a very stressful, busy time. Usually as I write my reports, I'm eating the whole time. I often gain 2 or 3 lbs. This time I'm losing - weird. Not sure what makes it "calm." I'm at work right now and can't look at the bottle. It is Jamieson brand and is available at grocery stores and pharmacies (here in Canada anyways). I've always been an advocate of getting what you need from what you eat rather than taking pills, but the last couple of years I've been popping a few different vitamins trying to get the hormones under control. So far, the only effect seems to be to make the drug companies wealthier....See MoreRegarding Fish Oil . . .
Comments (18)Just because it was on the news doesn't mean I believe it. As noted here - and in the other thread where fish oil was mentioned - changes have been noted. Our internist mentioned it some time ago because my husband's cholesterol has hovered very near the 200 mark a few times. We've made dietary and exercise changes. Both his parents have high cholesterol. His mother's side several siblings have had strokes, so of course it is a concern. But, I am so thankful to have a doctor that is not quick to push a pill. The Omega 3's can have an impact on cholesterol. Thanks Shee - I'm going to read up on the differences/benefits of the three mentioned and if there is not a significant loss of benefit to the one Boop linked, I think I would like to try that. I'm glad to know though that the one you are using has not caused problems....See Moretrianglejohn
