Have you ever tried exercise DVDs or tapes? If you have a combination VHS, DVD player that is a plus because you can get some good workout vhs tapes on eBay very cheap. The good thing about workout tapes is that once you plateau or get board you can change out with a new tape to keep you motivated. As a starting point, you could visit collage video online, look at workout reviews, fitness levels, short workouts, longer workouts, and exercise type to narrow down your choices, and then go to eBay or CraigÂs list to save money. There is also a workout tape/DVD reviews on Amazon and Paula DÂs. A good workout rotation example would be day #1 upper body on the Ball (works balance, erector spinae, upper body & helps with functional movement). Day #2 lower body on the Ball (balance, erector spinae, lower back, abbs, hips, butt and more). Day # 3 mat Pilates or a Pilates yoga mix (good for getting all those inter connecter muscles, spinal alignment, posture, stretching, abbs). Day # 4 REST. Day #5 upper body with lightweight or heavy if you are ready (good for large muscle groups). Day #6 lower body with lightweights or heavy if you are ready (good for large muscle groups). Day #7 Pilates or Pilates yoga mix. With this rotation, you could do shorter workouts as you are concentrating on particular muscle groups thus giving other muscle groups a day of rest. You will also achieve well-rounded fitness this way. In addition, because they are shorter tapes you will be able to do cardio without taking up to much time to get fit. You may want to consider some spin tapes to modify use with your exercise bike. To guarantee your success I would strongly urge you to start slow and at a suitable level. I have seen many people buy tapes that were to hard and the exerciser gave up almost immediately. Also, be warned that while your friend may love one exercise tape instructor, you may not. You will need a little time for experimenting. You will also need an exercise ball for your size, an exercise mat and one to eight pound weights to start, heavier if experienced. I have a combination of physical problems and truly believe in a workout rotation for physical fitness. I have a friend who beleives lifting heavy weights and walking is the way to go, the women has zero balance and can't touch her toes, not my idea of fitness.Looking at me, you would never know I have any problems; I am very strong and fit considering. My collection includes almost two hundred workout tapes, some that I love, some that I have outgrown and others where the instructor drives me nuts. The best part of it all is that I can exercise at my own convenience and no matter how much I may not want to exercise on certain days I can always find a tape to talk myself into the process. The bonus for me is that I am setting a good example for my teenager and he has started using my tapes. The boy is getting some mean biceps! All my best!

Faron, Thank you so much for writing back right away. You are so knowledgeable and generous with your time. I just want my walls to look nice and I was afraid if I skipped the primer, the paint may not stick. These forums (especially Michael) has taught me how important it is to prep the walls before painting and I can see how nice my other walls look by following this advice and making sure my painter did what I told him to do. But my bathroom was just painted and I am not changing the color much at all. I guess it is my fault for taking a shower too soon in the room and not putting the fan on in the room after each shower since I have no windows and that is why the paint is now streaking. All the other rooms look great and the other bathrooms have no problems that are rarely used. I do have the guest bathroom that I can take showers in for one week. I rarely use it since I like taking showers in my master bathroom with the glass doors than in a tub with a shower curtain. I only use that bathroom for guests or to wash my little doggies. I guess for one week, I can use the guest bathroom to shower in despite a little smell from my doggie's puppy pads in there. I guess I should feel blessed that my townhouse has 2 1/2 baths and has a lot of room. I just keep the puppy pads in there since in the winter time my spoiled little 5.8 lb Maltese, Sassy does not like to go outside. My other little doggies will go outside in my fenced in backyard on the stones but not the little Miss Princess Sassy who has always been like this knowing her cuteness will win out. I am just changing the color slightly since the BM Navajo White is only slightly less yellow than the Deep Cream and the Navajo White which I feel will go better with the bone colored Jacuzzi and the two bone colored sinks and the bone colored toilet, as well as the taupe tiles up the sides of the Jacuzzi and shower stall. The extra gray in the Navajo White surprisingly does not look gray to me in that room but warms the walls up and takes away the lemon cast that to me just did not look right against the taupe tiles. They are so similar in color and the formulas show it (Navajo White has 4 Less Units of Oxide Yellow and 4 more units of Gray and 1/2 extra unit of Orange than the deep cream color but otherwise they are so much alike in formula) but the room will then appear less lemon but still happy and bright and be semi-gloss like I wanted since I have no windows in it and I want to be able to clean it easily when I brush my teeth and get my walls dirty. I love my new pictures and my new olive towels and new olive rug and I feel they will go better with walls that do not have that lemon cast to them. I guess I should ask the paint store for a "liquid deglosser" and they will know what I mean? I can degloss part of the bathroom except for the tallest walls I will not be able to reach even with a tall ladder since I am not quite 5 feet. Maybe I can do what I can before painter arrives and he can do the rest. I think he is not that tall either (but much taller than me) but has tall ladders and long poles for his rollers. I had the painter tint the primer deep cream last time for the deep cream room and bone white tinted for the bone white room. I guess that was not really necessary since the colors are so light. The painter used the Deep Cream tinted primer for the Philadelphia Painted room telling me it was not worth going out to buy new primer. I wonder if this is why that room turned out more yellow than I had thought it would be.

Hi again, all, I forgot to add, just above. It seems to me a wise way to get exercise, keep muscles active, etc. is swimming. My old step-uncle died about 8 months ago and I've travelled 25 mile round trip out to his home to help keep it look lived-in, most every day since. Does anyone have some advice as to the amount that I should charge the estate for that service? He had an old dog that is quite diffident, barks a good story but won't come near folks that come in. Though a few months ago, at the auction, with scores of people around the place, he travelled among them. Perhaps felt that he wasn't an object of attention at that time. Some say that he was enjoying the snacks that folks offered, as well - though he had to have gotten near them in order to learn that such was available. Anyway - he got into a fight at the neighbour's a couple of months ago - cut on chest, that bled quite a bit and he wouldn't walk on one front leg. 'Twas a female, I think. He'll put his leg down occasionally, now, but still only a little. My time out there is indeterminate, as they'd like me to continue till the place is sold. I should go looking for a place for old Joe to hang his hat when I leave. Also - about nine cats, only about three of which will let me touch them. And a couple of kittens. Good wishes to all for continuing good health through your remaining years of life. Maybe you'd like to make some contributions to agencies that are trying to help folks suffering various diseases, and support research to reduce their action in future - I prefer that to having pharmaceutical companies fund them, often resulting in developing drugs to treat them rather than seeking ways to get rid of them in the first place. ole joyful

I have borderline osteoporosis and have had several bone density scans over the years. I've been on 4 different medications (including injectable Forteo) to try to boost bone density. It's very difficult to know if they actually help because you do not know what would have happened if not taking the meds. Maybe it would have been the same as with the meds. So people can take them out of fear of getting worse, or just skip it and hope for the best, get exercise, take calcium and other bone building supplements. Right now I'm taking Evista. I'm due for a scan but have skipped it for now but might do it another time. If I've dropped more, what am I going to do, try a fifth medication??
