Hypothyroidism

Went to the dr for a regular "wellness check" 2 weeks ago. Not to be confused with an "annual physical" which medicare will not cover. At least that's what they told me. During my visit I told him about my extreme fatigue, actually I called it weariness, depression, hair loss, etc. Never dawned on me it was a thyroid problem. He ordered a TSH test, and it came back at 6. His nurse told me that was still in the normal range, although high-normal. He prescribed meds to be taken on an empty stomach, and wait for an hr before eating anything. That's going ok, although symptoms have not eased, and my hair is now falling out in hand-fuls. I've always had extremely thick hair, and how I don't even have enough to hold my hair back with a barrett. Barrett, or pony tail band, just fall out. I'm going to need a wig soon.

Anyone else have this symptom after starting thyroid meds? How long does this last. I'm getting a little frantic about this. Thanks for your responses.
