Hi, so I have a question I thawed some pork chops and thought I could use the blood the garden. So I cooked it in the oven but I think I over cooked it bc it isnt coming off of my pan.. I cooked it at 200 but I was in the kitchen doing a few things so i didnt think it was very long.. I guess I didnt check on it enough or stir it. But half of it came up and half it it stuck to my small cake pan I dont use much.. I was going to cook the bones down as much as I can so break them down and put them in the compost.. well my question is how can I get the other half up? Add water then put it the oven to soften it up then scrape and then what?

Aspirin doesn't work the same way and doesn't do the same thing as Warfarin. Warfarin is an old (no more drug-company patents) drug that many, many people take. It has almost no side effects other than thinning your blood. (So you needn't worry unless you will be playing football or other contact sport any tme soon!) If you are taking Warfarin and need surgery, your doctor will take you off the Warfarin and make other arrangements prior to and after the surgery. The only bother about it is that you must stick with a consistent diet and you will need to have your blood tested regularly to make sure your dosage is putting your blood within the level your doctor has prescribed. A consistent diet means that if you eat X amount of broccoli, or drink X amount of wine, you should do so regularly. For example, if you never eat broccoli, then one day eat a large portion of it, it will affect your blood "thin-ness". So, yes, there are food and other drugs that are contraindicated, but that doesn't mean you must necessarily avoid them. Only that you eat than with regularity. One important issue: most doctors are not equipped to handle long-term maintenance tests for drugs like Warfarin. There may be an "Anti-coagulation clinic" who your doctor will refer you to - the clinic will monitor your tests, bug you when you are overdue for a test, and let you know if you need to change your dose. Find out if there is such a clinic available to you and if so, definitely get your doctor to offload your Warfarin maintenance to the clinic. Good luck.

Did you have a hospital stay and were you on intravenous blood thinner (heparin) there? Did your doc have you fitted for a circulation sock for the leg? How often are you seeing your doc now? Have you had ultrasound on the leg? A venograph? How much has the clot shrunk? Has an underlying cause been diagnosed? Seen a hematologist and been tested for underlying hereditary or secondary problems in your ability to form blood clots normally? Deep Vein Thrombosis is serious. And there are long-term effects. I've had 2 in the past 25 years and am now on lifelong coumadin therapy. Just having a DVT can cause you to be susceptible for more DVTs in the future. Doctors are NOT knowledgeable about this. There is a good Yahoo group for DVT sufferers. I forget the exact name of the group - but you need to be discussing this with fellow sufferers. If you had a large clot and you have been released from the hospital, then most likely you are out of immediate danger. The remains of the clot should by now be adhered to your vein walls and will not break off easily. You may have vein damage due to the large clot. Ask to be referred to a hematologist as well as a vascular specialist. As for the blood thinners - ask to be referred to an "anticoagulation clinic" to oversee your coumadin regimen. Doctor's offices are NOT equipped to oversee this effectively. If you are out of danger of embolism, then start getting exercise as soon as you are able, to help strengthen your veins and get your circulation back to normal. I saw the doctor this morning and these are my choices. Take birth control pills to regulate my periods or preferably Prevera to regulate them. The provera has made me gain weight in the past and the doctor says that is because it gives you more of an appetite. A cyst was found on one of my ovaries on the ultrasound. The doctor says I must have another ultrasound in 8 weeks to see if it gets smaller or goes away. If not, he recommends a hysterectomy OR he says I can schedule a hysterectomy for his first opening in April in which he will also remove my ovaries. I am almost 51 and the doctor says I am not in menopause although I could get it soon. The ultrasound confirmed multiple fibroids and that it is like I am 15 weeks pregnant. My first inclination is to wait for the next ultrasound to see if a hysterectomy is warranted anyways while not taking any pills for the next 2 months. Should the cyst problem go away on its own, should I go on Provera or birth control pills and ride this out until I reach menopause. The chances are minute that the fibroids are cancerous. Of course, he would want to keep a close eye on the fibroids if I don't have the surgery. My periods are still extremely painful, heavier than before, 7-8 days now instead of the 3-4 days before and I have lots of clotting. Also, the spotting I am constantly getting between periods is old blood, according to the doctor. The surgery doesn't scare me. I love the thought of no more periods but am I exchanging one problem for another by going thru with the surgery? The doctor also explained that he would take the ovaries (even without the cyst problem) because women over 45 have more of a chance for cancer if they kept their ovaries. Besides, I had my tubes tied years ago and don't want any more children. Any suggestions out there for me? What would you do in my place?
