I like many of Yardvaark's suggestions, though I am not a fan of that particular entry since it looks undersized to my eye. Try widening the walk and adding a generous landing, making the front beds deeper, and limbing up the tree in front after consulting with a qualified and licensed arborist to see if it is healthy. I think that all three trees are assets to the home. I am not a fan of walkways lined with plants. They all too often crowd the walkway, interrupt the view to the house, are additional maintenance, and make mowing a bit more work as they divide the yard into two separate areas. Do this much and then live there for a year with the changes before you decide whether the tree needs to go or shutters need adding. I like the current clean look of the architecture, and that type of shallow hip roof doesn't need the shutters to look appropriate. I would rather see a slightly larger, more classic looking roofed entry than shutters if given the choice to dress up the front view, and it would be of more practical value as well.

Would you recommend matching the brick to the upper color which will be repainted to match the siding Think in terms of color hierarchy: color coding the elements on your home - grouping like things together so it's visually organized. The body of the house should be one uniform color even if the elements aren't. For example, yours is a mix of brick, siding and stucco. Unify them with the same color and it not only looks better it makes more sense so from the curb it "registers" easier consciously and unconsciously. I’m also wondering if the garage surround should be a different, darker color, for some contrast. My mantra is simplify and edit. I wouldn't choose to do that. Same reason as above. Doesn't make sense to chop up the house with color. No reason the garage should be "coded" differently and made to stand out. Unifying the different materials with one color will make the house look bigger too. As far as color options, the roof informs your choices. Whatever you choose for a light near neutral for the body as well as the darker trim color needs to work well with the roof. Gutters should be painted to blend with the roof line/trim. Downspouts painted to blend into the body.

You have a mid century modern type inspiration picture. Your house is not a mid century modern. It is however, a very attractive house. Leave the railings etc all white. Paint the floor on the porch a nice gray, or other color, that goes with your house, and paint your door the yellow. Add some color in the porch furniture, and some outdoor type rugs on the porch. Then do a bit of landscaping. I would leave the hedges, they look nice and are much more attractive than the foundation would look. Please play up the style of house you have, and dont try to make it look like something it isnt, because, it will not look good. Oh, and I would paint over all the maroon to white.

I also think your home is pretty as is. Technically, if the area under the porch was darker, and the columns lighter, it would create contrast making the porch look deeper and more luxurious. And painting the dormers lighter than the surrounding backdrop would add visual depth. You don't have to use stark contrasts though. Think in lighter/darker terms, not white/black. I think you were thinking that way too, but I just wanted to assure you that you don't have to use extreme contrast.
