sloyd - yes, I think you are right about building out the plywood. Though think we need to worry about an edge on the bottom. At least the glass guy that was out here already said that glue is not enough for holding up the mirror, need something on bottom (I'm sure clips would work but think a ledge could kind of disappear.) horsenemisis - the details for my inspiration picture definitely explain there is a flat piece of mirror between two separate med cabinets. that's what makes it so great since this isn't obvious looking at it. I agree - the shim edges don't need to be exposed though the only way to open the cabinets is by putting fingers on edge - nothing to grab very well. But this is a separate problem and I'm checking out some other hardware that may help with this. And I think you may be right about there not needing to be a shelf (scratch what I wrote to sloyd) - If my contractor (not the glass installer) agrees, we may go with that assumption. Like your idea about the white boards - my contractor is more of a tile guy than a carpenter so glad to have more details on this. enduring - priming and finishing in advance sounds like a good thing for me to ask my contractor. I really like the first one you posted - I'm saving the pic as an inspiration for the hall bath I'm working on. Not quite sure my cabinetry skills are up to it - or time, as I'd have to cut a stud and put in headers, and move wires. Well, it's not a bearing wall. Twelve years ago when I just started DIY, I made one for the powder room - the door is rosette blocks and casing and a cut-down mirror. Screwed the hinges directly to the studs, drilled the studs for shelf supports and painted the stud cavity - it maximized the storage space. I've never heard that before. My vet has no problem with us ordering our meds online, and recommended the place that we order from (vetcentric.com). I think you do have to be careful that the place that you're buying from is legit. I HAVE heard of online places that tout that you don't need a prescription to buy from them, so who knows what's going on with that kind of situation? They may be doing all kinds of shady things. I just did a little research -- it looks like there may be reasons specifically for your vet being worried about the heartworm medication, though: http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2006/606_pets.html It still sounds to me, though, that if your dog has had the heartworm test recently, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to buy the meds online. It's odd.

BEWARE OF Petsuppliesnet.com, I purchased Advantage for my cats and at the low price I purchased several boxes seeing as I have three cats. The website appear legit as mentioned above and the picture was the same as the US version (along with weight specs), but upon receipt of the Advantage, the weight, active componenets, etc were all in metric. The product was in fact from Austria. I immediately contacted the vendor to get a return number, package the items back up and mailed them back. Now they claim they never received the return and I am having to battle it with my credit card. BEWARE OF THIS DIRTY COMPANY THAT LIES AND CHEATS!
