Pain on side of neck when drink hot beverages?

| About two months ago I started an intense excercise program and thought I tweaked my neck. I had pain halfway down left side of neck when hot liquids or food hit tip of my tongue. Doctor thought tongue issue. Couple weeks later went away. Got a massage, sensation came back for a day, then went away again. Today saw chiropractor b/c neck stiff again and after he was done I bought a coffee. Guess what? Pain was back. Any idea what this could be? How to cure? |

| Have you seen a dentist lately? It could be a problem with the jaw bones pressing on a nerve and the heat from the coffee makes it worse. Or even a tooth that's getting an absess. Pain from the tooth and jaw areas seem to radiate elsewhere. It's probably something else, but I think it would be well worth your time to have a dentist look at it. Maybe some Xrays would be helpful. |

| It's been a while since your post, but I just wanted to let you know that I have the same symptoms. It started about a week or so ago. I was diagnosed (MRI) with a bulging disc in my neck in August of 2009. Couple of months ago, I started working out again..... Please let me know if you have any additional information since your post! Thanks! |

You need a good dentist as this is problem of your tooth. reason being as nerves of tooth are connected with your brain and neck so they are automatically affecting your neck. |
