Hysterectomy done & I'm home
Comments (12)Hi my name is taahirah I'm 47 years old and I am schedule for a partial hysterectomy Oct 18. I recently found out a few years ago I had fibroid but I use to bleed so bad years ago,but fibroid never came up. I relocated and I started getting all this pin in my back and abdominal area and then was told I had fibroid and my uterus is the size of a twelve week pregnancy. I'm tired of this pain and bleeding and I'm severe anemia. After few years they re getting larger. My doctor recommend this procedure years ago but I was so afraid to have it now reading everyone post I feel more comfortable with doing it. I never knew so many women suffered with this I'm so glad I found this site to have some support....See MoreSo tired of bleeding
Comments (14)OH MY, 3 years later!!! I don't think that I can handle it that long. I don't have a family doctor let alone an OB/GYN and I live in an isolated community and have to go to the emergency room for treatment. They did blood work and did an exam and were suppose to schedule an ultra sound but haven't heard back yet. There was too much bleeding for a PAP at that time also. I may have to go back again if this doesn't stop soon. I'm on day 8 after a 4 day break. I feel like I'm under house arrest. Can't go anywhere for more than an hour, and don't dare sneeze or cough without being seated on the toilet. Would a hysterectomy put an end to this? I can put up with all the other side effects, I just can't stand being "stuck or held down"....See MoreAnyone with Food Restrictions?
Comments (16)Matti5 - so glad to hear you were finally diagnosed and feeling so much better. I live in Canada - I had the blood test you speak of. In Ontario, if you have the test at the hospital - it's free of charge. If you have the test at the Dr's office it costs $130.00. I had it at the hospital and the results came back negative for Celiac. I've had 2 endoscopies and 1 colonoscopy and all is well. In fact, after the second endoscopy and biopsies, the Internist called me on a Saturday morning to tell me everything was perfect. Two years ago I had a total hysterectomy - the doctor had to leave my cervix as it has adhered to my abdominal wall. I tell you - I give up! This is sooo frustrating. bigbaby - I also fear that I will get tired of my own cooking. I am definitely going to look into the cookbook "Everyday Grain Free Gourmet". My 20 yr old son has a red meat allergy, so we eat a lot of chicken, turkey and a bit of fish. When he was little, and I'd make a hamburger patty for him, he'd push it away. He would do the same with roast beef and pork. I was concerned and took him for allergy testing. The doctor confirmed he was allergic to beef, pork, veal, lamb. He can eat free range beef (but having gone without it most of his life, he doesn't like the texture). Will definitely post on Tuesday after my Dr's appt. Can't wait. Comments (17)Thank you all. Please do continue praying for her. She still has a lot of issues. She has to follow up with hematologist re her anemia and rheumatologist re her lupus, to see if it is the underlying factor in all of this. At some point she will have a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea??? She has an appt on Fri with her primary to help coordinate her treatment plan and med review, since she has multiple Drs prescribing. I'm trying to keep it all together, but I'm worried. No one else seems to be stepping up to help out and support her....See Moreagnespuffin
