I have a very small wart on the inside of my left ring finger, at the first joint. Doesn't really bother me. But I have one on my left leg near the shin bone. It is flat and about the size of a dime. Doesn't bother me except in the summer when I'm wearing shorts. Looks gross, even though it is skin colored and rather smooth. I asked the dermo doc about it and he said: "leave it alone, it is just a wart!" But I want it gone. I read in the newspaper recently, the Doc who replaced Dr. Gott wrote about warts. His advice was to use duct tape, the silver, not the clear. Cover the wart with DT. Leave it 6 days. Remove it and soak and file the wart. Leave it uncovered overnight, then cover with DT in the morning. Repeat for 6 days. Do this for 6 months or until the wart is gone. Not very practical for most people. I might try it. If it works it should be gone by summer. Sue

After reading these posts I decided the Free Country jacket/coat may work for me. I had bought a new coat from Penney's last fall since my 13-year-old doubled fleece hoody; and my 15-year-old -40 rated parka could use some help between the two extremes. I went to Kohl's to check out the Free Country coats. The selection was picked over, but I then realized I was wearing my new coat - and it was a Free Country, size 2X. The one I got at Penney's back in October. Did I feel silly or what? I am 5'1" and very plump. This coat is a normal length 2X; so it comes below mid-thigh on me - and I love the length. It has a full, wide hood (not removable) that can easily cover a hat or cap along with my XL brain box! :) The coat is reversible, water resistant on one side, and fuzzy fleece on the other. There are two roomy pockets on each side plus a zippered chest pocket on the slick side. This description is from Penney's web site, and the coat is now $20 less than what I paid for mine. You don't have to snap it all the way up. There soft fleece inside and you can leave the neck opening as small or large as you wish. ... The JCP site shows them all nipped in and fitted. Mine fits more like this black one above, or even more "full!"; I don't tighten the waist cord. It's roomy; easy on and off (if I'm not wearing fleece sweaters ) and really blocks the wind. There is a zipper closing under the snap-shut storm flap.

Lovem, the Clinique seems to be lightening some of the spots on my cheek. But, interestingly, on a spot that I have above my lip, which is the one bothering me the most. I am committed to the 12 weeks, but it is too expensive to use daily. If it works, I will do as you did and just spot treat. I think to actually get rid of them you have to have the dermatologist "burn" them off. But, you have to stay out of the sun so you have to plan it maybe during winter. Mine is costly as it is a cosmetic procedure, so I don't know if I will go that route.

Patriciae, thanks for the interesting feedback. And I do realize that numbness and paralysis are also bad at the other extreme. Hey! I even once had a scary experience with sleep paralysis, so yes, i know. Not to mention the short-term numbing given by dentists! They had me keep pulling on a pulley as "therapy" for my back. Well, not only didn't it help my back, but the 1st knuckle of my left ring finger was left permanently swelled up with painful arthritis. Likewise, a podiatrist a few years ago insisted on putting an Ace around my ankle, even though i hadn't visited him about my ankle, rather about my feet. Well, the result was that the same permanent swelling and damage happened to my ankle, as happened w/ finger. So i totally disagree with all these"good doctors". What fixes a severely broken body and its accompanying depression, is usually real repair, not "talking" therapy, nor torture-by-exercise, (nor torture by tight bandages, as Sister Kenny of polio-fame proved, however much various authorities attempted to hush it up.) I mean, do car mechanics "talk" to a car to fix it? Do they tell the car "get some exercise"? If anyone thinks that hush-ups of real-repair haven't been ongoing to this day, not just Sister Kenny, think again. That's not all Mayo got wrong. Their site's EMG info gives no warnings that a small minority of patients can suffer long-term repercussions from EMG. I only found out through digging deep on the www, which yielded me one solitary testimonial site, wherein several testimonials of long-term reactions to EMG proved Mayo's site to be irresponsible. And i thoroughly believe those minority-testimonials, because i experienced the same repercussions from acupuncture. (Yes, i'm aware that most people, yes even fibromyalgics like me will testify that acupuncture is relieving and with no bad reactions. And in fact, i myself had varying experiences during three separate acupuncture sessions - with one being neutral, another one fairly uncomfortable - whereas a third one caused me over a decade of lasting pain. Perhaps it's because most people don't have CRPS. But all this is just semantics, not true science, which would be to show an accurate picture of the source(s) of pain. Such as a too-acid body whose root cause is XYZ, combined with congenital-or-malnutritional narrow vessels, combined with XYZ-blockages such as heavy-metals/plaque/parasites, combined with structural-damage, leaky valves, leaky gut, etc. But at least, Nuvo Spine's technique is a start. (see my previous post). Even if it's not mainstream. And will it ever become mainstream, that's the Q.
