I have a couple watering cans (plastic) without roses (or as I call them "noses") that I hide near my pots that are on the front porch. When I go on vacation, i put them right next to the plants for the convenience of my friend who waters for me. If you have pretty watering cans you could just leave them out. You can buy things from garden catalogs that screw onto plastic bottles then stick them into the soil to slowly water plants. I don't think they are very expensive. If you use a small clear bottle, it might be hidden in your plants. Or just hide the capped bottles in a basket or something (the pretty watering can?) and bring them out to water. Once my mom found a drowned mouse in her watering can. That has ever happened to me fortunately, but hiding water in bottles with caps seems like a good idea to me the more I ramble on!

Well not mixing dairy and meat would be impossible here. LOL I'm making white chicken chili with leftover chicken today. I like Chicken salad on crackers more than bread. One of our favorite "leftover" chicken uses is. Rice, broccoli chicken casserole. I use a white sauce, that I add cheese to. (I bet you could use rice milk, and no cheese.) Leftover rice, fresh or frozen broccoli, cooked chicken chunks, shreds, or bits, and pour the white/cheese sauce over it. Bake at 350 covered for about 45-60 minutes. Until hot and bubbly in the middle..

Just because it was on the news doesn't mean I believe it. As noted here - and in the other thread where fish oil was mentioned - changes have been noted. Our internist mentioned it some time ago because my husband's cholesterol has hovered very near the 200 mark a few times. We've made dietary and exercise changes. Both his parents have high cholesterol. His mother's side several siblings have had strokes, so of course it is a concern. But, I am so thankful to have a doctor that is not quick to push a pill. The Omega 3's can have an impact on cholesterol. Thanks Shee - I'm going to read up on the differences/benefits of the three mentioned and if there is not a significant loss of benefit to the one Boop linked, I think I would like to try that. I'm glad to know though that the one you are using has not caused problems.

My floor is red oad (with "provincial" stain from min-wax and 3 coats of polyurethane) If you want a harder wood, hickory is a good choice (its what baseball bats are made of). My friend has hickory and ash, it is beautiful. Pre-finished is definitely at DIY project! The price per sq foot is the same (I THINK) but you save on the intall. If I were paying someone to do the floors, I wouldn't go with pre-finished UNLESS it was a remodel and you didn't want to risk sawdust in the house. (Altho we added site-finished floor to a room a couple years ago - there are ways to prevent the dust throughout the house) Keep in mind - I'm no expert, just giving my honest opinion!
