The saga continues ... The decision was made that the floor needed to be replaced, everyone agreed and we were told they would be ordering the wood. After not hearing anything for a month, I call them and find out that they forgot to order it. Then we were told they were not going to replace the whole floor and the sub-contractors wanted to send more people out to look it. After discussing this with my BIL lawyer we told them that no one else would be coming out until we had something in writing from the BBS that they were going to replace the flooring. Yesterday they came out and ripped out the flooring and today they began installing the new wood. I spent most my morning trying to get a hummingbird out of the garage and when I came in I knew immediately that the flooring was different than what we had before. I pulled out the excess pieces that we had saved and compared them. The right wood was ordered but it is entirely different than what we had the two previous times. Even the contractors agreed that it looked like different wood, not just the natural variations that inherent to wood flooring. My husband took samples of the old and the new to the BBS and they also agreed that it looks entirely different. They are sending both samples to the manufacturer and asking them to be sure that the next order is the same as what we had previously, and what matches the store samples. I was really tempted to just accept it to have this over and done with. But it just didn't look right with the molding and cabinets. SO it's still not done. Now we wait and hope they don't forget to order it again. Is it ever easy????

Oh my, I have no chance of staying caught up on this forum! You ladies are so prolific with your TS's! OA your tables are wonderful and I ditto what others have said. Those boots were not expensive when you consider what they cost new. I know that well as I've bot a few pair. To think I've been donating all our old jeans to the thrift store! I'll think twice next time. Very useful for western themes. Love your nail punched lanterns! Faux barbed wire - who'd a thunk! :-D I knew the hook had to be for boots as I have a similar one that was made by a blacksmith for lacing ice-skates. Painted tumbleweed! How creative - I'll never look at it the same again. It grows in an area we occasionally travel to and I never thot of it being useful for anything! I may just have to paint my tacky tourist souvenir cowbell black - looks great like that. I've had the occasional problem with this site when trying to post to a thread but just go back and try again immediately and it works. I also sometimes have problems accessing any forum here but the message says it's unavailable and I thot they were doing upgrades.

I am also one of getting rid of crap. ' Texas_Gem, that's wild. I'm willing to bet this weekend you'll be showing us the entire place closed in and ready for insulation! Unfortunately it quickly packs up with new crap. The difficult thing is, too, that I have purpose for the crap. In the last month, I've made several things out of crap, without having to buy anything. Well, the raised garden bed was a bale of hay ($6.00), the potting bench a piece of corner bead ($8.00) and today, inside, my apothecary drawers. I find these spice/apothecary drawers to be the most useless pieces of crap in the world. Almost as useless as base, reach-in cabinets or 12" wall cabinets. However, on a 16' run, they give the eye a break. Plus, I have 4 sets of them. Don't ask. But, I'd already bought the corbels from a true artist on Etsy. Absolutely lovely. No idea what I was going to do with them. I've used primer I have, I'm going to use a SW sample paint for the bottoms, sealing it with the dark, paint base I already have. So, crap already here. I also came to a roadblock with the lovely oak I've been planing. It's dimensional, with live edges. I mean, BARK on the edges!! What can I build to showcase that, since it's incredible? I was planning cabinet doors, probably, but I'd have to joint that off. Noooooooo... Ideas? Hmmm... No phone. Pizza and Martinis? I'll take the latter. YEAH! Martinis and pizza!! What could be better, except talking on the phone with someone about how great it is. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope all is uploaded somewhere. Shicksal, the reason for stealing the phone isn't to use it, it's to sell it. With a SIM card, anything's possible. Interestingly enough, many phones now have GPSs or programs to shut them down, so even that lucrative activity is slowly thwarted. In the meanwhile, Crap of a different sort. Ok. Off to sand and paint. What can I make with that gorgeous oak? We're talking 6-8' boards. 9-11 3/4" wide.... I have hung 90" of upper cabinets in the last 2 days, though. Gotta put the doors on, but oh, so pretty. And OFF the counter. Cal_quail, I'm so relieved for you. I was holding my breath.

LOL ... the post that refuses to die. :-) When I took my glue on nails off after about seven years. My nails were so messed up I thought they would never look normal. Really, really wish I had taken photos though because the difference after using the Nail Magic Botanical Nail Strengthener with Horsetail, is amazing. The trick to getting your nails back in shape ... at least my approach is ... when I wash my hair I really use my nails to shampoo. As soon as I get out of the shower I clean under my nails real good with one side of a pair of tweezers because they are always nearby. No matter how short your nails are, this visually makes them look longer. After they dry, I apply a thin coat of Nail Magic Botanical Nail Strengthener with Horsetail and let it dry, followed by one more thin coat. The most important thing at this point is to coat the nail, the tip and under the tip no matter how short your nails are. This keeps the nail from getting ragged and snagging stuff. As soon as that happens, I start peeling my nails and everything is lost. I clean my nails the same way every morning and by day three, they already look longer. I add another thin coat of polish every 3-4 days concentrating on the tips each time. Hope this helps someone. Jodi-
