Jim. Oh dear. You could try putting a basket muzzle on Gracie. She can still drink and you could give her (and Savannah...that's important that they're both fed treats) treats for being good. For example. Get them to sit apart (8 feet) from each other. Both would be on leash. If it's too close (Savannah is trembling, etc.) then move further apart. Gracie would be on leash with you holding (loosely...no tension) a short leash (maybe a foot of leash between you and her). Jerk the leash and say no if she moves towards Savannah or if she growls. She can look at her though. If Gracie is good, give her a cookie saying "Gentle, good gentle). If Savannah is not affected, give her a cookie. You don't want to give her a cookie when she's nervous. Then about 15 minutes later (after separating them), move them back to (7 1/2 feet) from each other...if they did well at 8 feet apart. Otherwise, go back to 8 feet. They should be on leash (when you are both home). Shake it up with not just you holding Gracie's leash. If you want some time away from them, put one in a crate or a different room. This may go on for months. Any time that they're calm around each other...give a treat and say good gentle.

I continue to exercise regularly but over the winter, and especially since Christmas I've found myself missing a day here or there of either weight lifting or cardio. I try to have two dedicated exercise sessions 5 days / week and a single exercise session the other 2 days / week. I do think the cold temperatures and frequent snow/ice are impacting my motivation. I'm trying to stay flexible and using cardio options I have in my basement (stationary bike, treadclimber) when the weather does not allow running outside and scheduling doesn't allow swimming. I have had some really good strong swim sessions including one where two of my regular swim friends commented on just how fast I was that day. That felt great. On the food front, I continue with 5:2 IF. I still have the few stubborn holiday pounds, but the good news is that I continue to weigh myself regularly so I am aware and I'm not going to let myself give up. I have no problem doing the "normal" 5:2 but I am struggling a bit with doing 36hr fasts occasionally, and I think the cold weather doesn't help. More of a struggle than I had in the summer and fall. I did make a big pot of pinto posole soup and enjoyed trying something new. I think I need to keep up with trying new recipes to keep myself interested. It does feel like my hunger is higher in the winter and I'm not certain why.

Bestyear, I am so sorry this happened to you. I had a very similar incident. I experienced confusion, loss of balance, memory loss, and extreme tiredness. It resulted in two visits to the hospital. During the first visit I was told I had vertigo after a CT, MRI, and blood test. The second incident a co-worker observed what happened and communicated that to my SO. I refused to go to the ER but had SO call my doctor. The doctor had me admitted on a four-day observation in the stroke ward. No one did an EEG untill the last day. It was too late to diagnose a seizure, thought that is what my doctor suspected. At the hospital I had a strange sensation of a shade lifting and just feeling fine. The world seemed brighter, and I felt sharper. I am sure that is the moment when I was all better. Fast forward four months later, my doctor called and asked if I had any connection to a particular daycare center. I did. It seemed a woman who worked there, also my doctor's patient and had the same symptoms I had. She had agreed to a spinal tap. She had aseptic meningitis caused by a Norovirus that ran through the daycare in April. I had spent time evaluating that daycare in April and had gotten sick with a very bad stomach virus that resolved after four days. It is presumed that I had aseptic meningitis. It took three months from having a stomach virus to seizures. I went on vacation to Machu Picchu and Ecuador four days after my hospitalization and had a great time. I hope you get a diagnosis, feel better and never have another episode.

"regional version of Blue Cross" gives me pause. You'll have to check with HR on your specific policy. With Cobra being federal, they have to offer you a plan but it could possibly be an alternative plan if you move from the area of coverage. We ran into something similar years ago when the company DH was working for was purchased by a firm across the river in Oregon. The insurance sounded more than adequate without any payment to cover part of the premiums to be withheld for employees or their families. What we discovered was after one of DH's coworkers accumulated several hundred dollars in allergy testing for one of his children was we were covered by Blue Cross of Oregon which paid considerably less at Washington locations. Scramble in change of plans for us and by years end we had Blue Cross of Washington but with an expensive interim for a few.
