Clivia Miniata - flower bud stuck!
Comments (6)I grow C. miniata to. For years the stalk never did come out of the leaves. This year I've had 2 do it, both flowered in the fall. The one is still flowering now. Both had stalks that rose as the buds opened. I don't have the cold room anymore so mine don't get the cold period. They flowered anyway, the best ever. I didn't realize they needed the cold for the stalks to grow taller. Thanks for that tip Smivies. I asked questions on the clivia forum and was told they need phosphorous for the stalk to get taller. I'm trying that, alternating between a general fertilizer and with more phosphorous in it....See MoreBlue Crown or you guys tell me
Comments (3)Except for the 3rd one down, that's definately a caerulea. The third pic tho looks like a caerulea held up in front of a quadrangularis or 'ruby glow'... In fact, given about 10 minutes to move my ruby glow over by my caerulea (and granted a blooming caerulea, mine isn't at the moment) I betcha I could recreate that pic. Are those really it's leaves? If they are, I'd be suspect of that one... But all the others, yeah, that's caerulea. ("blue-crown" to it's friends) The leaves vary with the age of the plant & where they are- I've noticed the 'fingers' tend to get thinner out toward the end of the vine. There's also some variance between the flowers, often hard to see unless one from each plant is held next to the other. I have one from southern california who has 3" flowers, and one I bought here locally with 2" flowers. They look almost exactly the same, with the smaller one's corona being a bit lighter.. Just looking at the leaves tho I can tell no difference between the plants. Lots of variance in this particular plant....See MoreConnecting stained cabinet crown with painted crown in room
Comments (4)Gorgeous hutch! Do you have a link to more photos of your kitchen? I'd love to take a look around! I was also worried about upcoming molding transition issues (2 different paint colors in my case). But I see from the photo that it will likely be a non issue. No one will notice it but me, and even I won't notice it after the first day. It looks perfectly fine! Nothing odd about it! :-) Francy...See MoreWALLPAPER experts,,,question about crown molding/tech. ???s
Comments (0)Hi All, I haven't posted in a while but I need your help. If I had time I'd post my link from a while ago for the paper I have etc.,,,but no time since I have bunco at my house on Thursday!! (I know,,procastination got me here) Scenario,,,1/2 bath,,wallpaper: cream bkgrnd,,country french print in red(ish) that has swirls and flower boquets all in this red. I just love it up, looks great,,about to finish today!! I'm going with a red (matched) ceiling in beadboard due to having to cover that ugly box light that came out of ceiling to have the electrical into the wall above sink...I can always flip this on the reverse side and paint the matched cream before I install if I hate the red. 2 Questions: 1) Should the crown molding match the paint color on the ceiling or the cream that is painted on the cabinets, door/frame and base boards? 2) Technical question: I discovered in my prep work that there is a 2-3" space between window and corner that the dry wall will have to be replaced due to moisture etc. (We just ordered new windows, so I'm inclined to let that ride until they come out and we get into the sill etc.) The Question part is,,,,,A) Should I wallpaper up to it, leaving couple inches on each side and CUT the piece from ceiling to counter before I paste it (so it's an exact match when I later put it up OR....B) Should I not cut it and just paste part of the paper that will be hung on the wall (adjacent wall that meets in the corner) and just fold it back, unpasted, until the wall problem is fixed then it will be pasted and stuck on the wall since the other rt side of paper is already on the wall and attached,,,can you picture this (if I had time I'd put up a photo)...??? (On the second option I thought maybe it would hide that little area temporarily),,,the wall problem on the drywall is just that top layer. Help ASAP if you can...Thanks so much,,,Nicole...See Morelittleonefb
