Warning to all ex smokers

I've just been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer which is the worst stage. The prognosis is doom and I'm only 58.

I used to smoke but I stopped 20 years ago so I thought I was in the clear. But I was wrong.

My message is this: Even if you've stopped smoking, get regular chest x-rays, it may save your life!

RE: Warning to all ex smokers

So sorry to hear such bad news.

But you are correct. Everyone should get regular lung Xrays. Not just for cancer, but other lung problems.

We have just had a flare up of finding TB in one of the schools. An Xray would have showed the disease before it had a chance to infect others. The child involved seems to have contacted it from a relative.
