A Richard ergo grip safety razor scraper is what I reach for first when cleaning any Ceran cooking surface. I run the blade over the entire surface, just like a wood plane, using both hands, from one front corner to the other. Then I lift the blade, go back to the start and shift over to the next "lane" and keep doing it until finished up on a lane from back corner to back corner. When the blade tells you it is finding something "good" to work on lane after lane it is useful to flip the razor over every couple of lanes. Also try scraping any areas that gave the blade a hard time earlier from front to back as well when finished to check that the resistance is gone. I know someone whose motto is: "A Ceran top and politics have a lot in common, both can seem quite clean but when you start scraping them you may be surprised at what shows up". Cerama Bryte should be the last cleaning step, not the first, and it should be buffed away before it is completely dry. There are quite a few substitutes like the eraser in a pinch. Vim works well but don't let it dry on you, and it leaves oily streaks that will buff away after left for a day or so or go away eventually on their own. A lightly moistened strong paper towel used with a bit of sprinkled flour is also effective.

Regarding the burning smell: Just like a new car has some pretty strong plastic and rubber odors, your Bosch washer is similar in that respect. The internal heater has a tendency to enhance the new plastic/rubber odors. This combined with a slight odor from the new tub drive belt, during high speed spin can be somewhat of a concern to a few customers. When I worked for B/S/H/, periodically I would receive calls from customers complaining of the plasic/rubber burning odor coming from their new washer; both AXXIS and NEXXT, but it never amounted to anything dangerous in the way of a fire hazard, just a disturbing odor. One customer received two AXXIS replacements, due to the burning odor. The replacement machines produced the same smell and I can only attribute it to the internal heater, which had a tendency to enhance these odors, of which some people are very sensitive. Our live showroom AXXIS unit produced this odor when new, with a reduction and finally an elimination of the smell over a few months of use. Some dealers took the so called problem machines back, due to a few customers unwilling to live with the smell on the short term, but you should notice a reduction in the odor over time. I do recommend having any machine with a burning odor to at least be checked/inspected by an authorized servicer for your own safety and peace of mind.

I have a GE Nature Gas stove and the right front burner does not stay burning and at times won't start. The Model NO. is JGBP85WEB5WW Serial NO. FF259494P Can someone help me to find out what the problem is, why this burner is not lighting. I noticed that when I removed the parts off the they were black. What would this cost to get fixed?

A structural engineer could design a floor system that is only 8" thick. Some possibilities are: a flat plate slab floor, a metal deck and concrete composite floor, or light weight steel. Or a 10" thick floor with 1 3/4 x 7 1/4 LVL's and a 7'-10 ceiling height. But if you check the zoning ordinance I suspect you will find a 2 1/2 story limit unless you are in a multi-family zone but then the building height would probably be higher.
