Freezing off warts?

Hi,

My 18 year old son developed a big wart where he had an incision sutured. Has anyone tried any of the over-the-counter spray wart removers? His wart is about the size of a small pea. It scares me a little to try it, but it beats a huge dermotologist's bill.......plus the dermatologist can't get us in until late August, and my son will be gone to college by then. Thanks.

I have used a freeze type wart removing product on my age spots. It removes the flat ones, but doesn't touch the kind that are raised.

BUT, I knew what I was experimenting with and I am not sure that you do. How certain are you that it is a wart? If you know for sure, then I would go ahead and use an over the counter product, but if you're not, then I think it needs to be looked at. Couldn't you get him in to see a GP?

Hi devorah,
I will probably try another dermatologist. I guess I feel okay trying it on his obvious wart, but he also has a skin tag on his nose that I definitely wouldn't want to mess with.
I used Compound W on a wart of mine a long time ago and it worked. I've also had several burned off by a dermatologist. I'd been seeing the Dr. Shoals commercial for the freezing stuff, and was thinking of giving it a try.

I have grown lots of varieties over the years. For Autumn sowing it's usually Aquadulce Claudia, or a version therof. For Spring sowing I've grown Witkiem major and Witkiem manita, Masterpiece Green Longpod, Bunyards Exhibition, Dreadnought and Jubilee Hysor. I've not grown any of the Windsors (of which there are several kinds). Favas (broad beans over here) are widely grown and maybe there are more to choose from here. To eat them at their best and without skinning the beans need to be small - no bigger than your thumbnail preferably. Hi again When I checked the event viewer on my desktop, I found this warning under the applications folder - Event ID 1517. The following is copied from the Windows Help and Support Center. ******************************************************* Details Product: Windows Operating System ID: 1517 Source: Userenv Version: 5.2 Symbolic Name: EVENT_HIVE_SAVED Message: Windows saved user %1 registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account. Explanation Windows unloads each user's profile and user's section of the registry when the user logs off. This message indicates that Windows could not unload the user's profile because a program was referencing the user's section of the registry. This locked the profile. The registry cannot unload profiles that are locked and in use. When the program that is locking the profile is no longer referencing the registry, the profile will be unloaded. User Action No user action is required. ******************************************************** I guess this means I just leave the computer when this happens and it will clear itself at some point???? or What does it mean to try "configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account"?? Sounds like a cyst of some type, though treatment often involves cryogenics. You are basically frostbitten when treating the warts this way. I would stop picking at it, go back to your doctor or another if you don't like him/her. I have to wait almost 1.5 hours, on average, to see an exceptional dermatologist. Believe me, I tried others because of the long wait. Tried another dermatologist recently whom I made 4 appointments for same wart in my thumb. He froze w/spray each time, except the 4th time I called back and canceled - he knew his skin ailment terminology and names, but he wasn't about to get the job done. Went back to the other dermatologist mentioned above, 1 trip, q-tip application, and the wart (I had this almost a decade) is gone. This is one type of doctor, if you know a good one, don't let any less important considerations hold you back.

In early May I had a bump on my distal digit . I thought it was a mucoi cyst at first and disregarded it. Two weeks later it had grown in size but still smooth with no indication of being a wart. Under the lamp I could see the veins of the wart. What does that look like basically tiny white or black dots. I used the dr. Scholl freeze kit longer and more frequent than told. The wart would turn white and continue to get bigger. I cut the top off with a pair of scissors. Just enough to remove a few layers of skin . I soaked the site in apple cider vinegar with the mother three times a day and at night applied fresh slivers of garlic. This removed the wart to the very base. I like a fool stopped treatment thinking I nailed the sucker. Nope! Two weeks later I could see it was bigger. Again I removed the skin with a scissor or a nail clipper. I have been slicing up banana peel and wrappg the wart with the banan peel and scotch tape. The banana peel made the fresh skin surrounding the wart peel away. I have a thin scab still active with the wart. With a magnifying glass I can see the tiny veins still present. How do you know when it is gone and how long to treat? You know when it is gone when all you see is normal skin. If you have a scab continue to apply the banana peel. How long will it take using any natural method..... Depends on how vigil you are and how deep the sucker is. I am about two weeks into self treating for the second time . I only have about the size of "%" . The wart is only the size of the percent mark. I can see there are a few veins still present. It is not necessary to cut the skin till you bleed. I only removed a top layer to any product could penetrate. The garlic was effective but I smelled like garlic all the time. Some have more success with the garlic and others the banana. Just make sure you get the entire sucker or it returns . Also you must clean the scissor or nail clipper or the wart will transfer. I agree that the banana is the most effective and does not hurt one bit whereas the freeze method did diddly squat and burned. Oops the banana method does burn a little when you are at the final" kill stage" but it is minor.

Are you sure this is not a keloid?? You mentioned that it was were he had a surgical incision. Please don't do anything to it until you have it checked by a doctor!!

No, its not a keloid. But it did grow on the end of the incision. I'm thinking maybe the virus took advantage of the wound?? I don't know for sure. I decided to use Compound W instead, since the freezing stuff was so expensive, and had something like 12 treatments in it. Thanks for the heads-up though! I wouldn't use it on anything I wasn't certain was a wart.

My 12 y.o. son had a wart on one of his toes for the past year. We tried Dr. Scholl's Freeze Away Wart Remover. It took about 6 treatments over a couple of weeks before the wart finally disappeared. It did work for us.

The ad on TV makes it look like it works in one application......no wonder they put 12 applications in the package!
We'll see how the Compound W works and go from there. He has a skin tag of some sort on his nose which will require a dermatologist......so if this doesn't work on his wrist wart, we'll have the dermatologist take care of that too. Warts are weird. I had a couple when I was younger, and it just doesn't make sense where they choose to grow. Thanks for your help.
P.S. What kind of healthy oil are you into? Fish?Flax?Coconut? Just curious! :)

The itworkspaste is awesome. You can get it on ebay or if you don't have paypal you can use your cc from the website. You apply once for 20 minutes unless it's really stubborn. Then you may need an extra application.
