I too use a power chair and I found that making wheel covers out of old tee shirt material and elastic so that they slip over the wheels but don'thurt traction helps to keep the mud down. I generally put a set on the wheels on wet dirty days and then when I'm done and back up on the deck I strip them off and put them out to dry. Once dry I can shake most of the dirt off and then run them through the washer. The best way I can describe them is that they are a strip of cloth as long as the circumfrance of the wheel plus seam allowance and each side has elastic applied. The ends are seamed together so that the circle is the correct size to slip over the wheel and the elastic then goes on each side of the tire and holds them on. Hope this helps.

if you Google rose thorn injuries you get all kinds of articles. Almost all of them will say that the biggest problem is the tip of the thorn remaining in the skin. I only know this because I smacked my knee with a rose thorn a couple months ago. I wound up with the most unbelievably painful knee. The tip didn't break of for me though. What I did was puncture the bursa on my knee cap. Crazy painful. Some of the things I read though were of very serious chronic conditions caused by those bacterial infections. I would definitely stay on that injury. Insist they make sure there is no thorn fragment in there and that ALL the infection is gone.

My regrets and condolences to all of your Mom's loved ones and I pray that they may find the peace of heart that they need at this stressful time. As for your wish to hold no gathering of loved ones and friends following your death ... ... don't you think that they will want to have a gathering to honour your memory? After my brother's death, some friends wanted to come from some distance, so they held a memorial service about a week or 10 days later, with a table at the front holding a vase with a single red rose. My father died in a car smash a few miles from the farm where he'd lived and moved away from, 40 years earlier. Some friends, mainly family near where he'd lived for a number of years, wanted to attend a gathering, and his former mother-in-law was to have a 100th birthday celebration on a Saturday about 10 days later, so we held a memorial service on that Friday evening. They held another later, near the area in which he'd lived for the most recent 40 years. Folks in both areas indicated their pleasure that they'd had the opportunity for a gathering to honour his memory. Actually, such gatherings are not morbid affairs, but rather a happy time, for if there's a reception at the same time, many attenders have the opportunity to refer to some happy occasion that they remembered, relative to the deceased. Often the loved ones find such an event one that they look back on with satisfaction ... saying that it helped with their process of healing ... brought some focus to it, so to speak. They held such a gathering for my ex-wife, as well, about 10 days after the event (she'd fought cancer for most of a year) and my brother and his wife flew 1,500 miles or so for that weekend, as did some of her relatives from a distance. My children found that quite gratifying. In all three of those situations, I think that the person had been cremated, not that that fact has much bearing on the situation, I think. I think that many of us like to have an occasion related to the leave-taking of someone that we've known and loved, rather than just leaving such leave-taking being sort of left up in the air. I need some input from anyone who might have this valve connected to a shower head and a hand-held shower wand. I wanted two single function valves; plumber convinced my husband that two would not be necessary; the Moentrol valve was fine he said. Well, it is not fine! The shower-head seems to have enough pressure...the hand-held is so weak that it was a waste of $ putting it in. Do I have a faulty valve or is weak pressure the norm with a multi-function hand-held wand and this valve. I have the same wand upstairs on its own valve; water pressure is excellent. i am NOT happy! I knew what I wanted...there would have been no issues! If low hand-held pressure is the norm, am I out of line to ask him to share in the expense of putting it on its own valve? *cross-posted in plumbing
