How much acidophilus to take when on antibiotics

My husband is suffering from babesia, which is a parasite co-infection with Lyme. He is on Mepron and Azithromycin. It was recommended he take acidophilus to balance the bacteria.

My question is: how much should he take, and when is the best time of day to take it?

that's the kind of question you should ask his doctor

I don't know for sure but I always eat one small container of yogurt a day. Even my doctor says to eat yogurt when you are taking antibiotics. Be sure and check the container to make sure it has live acidophilus in it as some brands do not.

I always wondered if I took it in pill form how much I needed. I hope you get an answer.

Acidophilus is good to take every day...not just when taking antibiotics. When having food poisoning I took one every few hours until better.
