period issues??? confused???

I have always had a regular cycle. Get my period about every 28 days. It lasts 4-5 days and is a moderate flow.

The last 2 months my period has come on time, but been so light it is almost like spotting.

I have had one child, 9 years ago. When I was pregnant with her I had no spotting or period. I thought maybe I am pregnant again but the test was negative. I have a dr. appt scheduled for next week because I am worried.

Has anyone had an issue like this with their period?? Or any ideas what could be causing my period to change like this?

Change in diet, exercise, stress level, travel, or medicines could make your period lighter.

I'd have your doctor check you out just in case, but I wouldn't waste anytime worrying about it.

Carla is right. See your doctor and don't worry.

Most women have times where they become irregular now and then. You have just been one of the lucky ones that haven't. You don't say how old you are, but sometimes as we get older, the regularity and amount changes a little.

perhaps you are confusing a transplant.. with an 'established' shrub ... established shrubs... older then 3 years in situ ... usually need little or no water except in extreme drought ... as mine are right now.. with drooping leaves ... transplants.. rely on you for a supreme 'culture' of nice damp [as compared to wet] soil .. with a nice mulch to temper wild swings .. as to how often you need to water is dependent on your soil.. and how water moves thru it.. short of digging small holes or inserting your finger and actually finding out how yoru watering protocol is performing ... there is no way for us to tell you how long you have to water .. to get water down into the entire root mass of the transplant ... i might guess that your watering is superficial .. and though you might be wetting the plant .... or the soil surface.. you were previously not getting enough water.. down into the root mass .. water as you will.. then dig a small hole.. and find out what you accomplished ... good luck ken

JW, "...my serrano is showing some darkening/brittleness on some leaves, it's not just confined to the edges of the leave either. If it were just confined to the lower leaves I wouldn't be too concerned but I see some leaves are effected in the mid section as well." Well, I would be concerned even if it were just the lower leaves. Everything about your plant's appearance communicates to you the state of its health and nutrition. The darkening makes me suspect a phosphorous deficiency. This is what a phosphorous deficiency in corn looks like. I don't have a link to a similar picture for a Serrano pepper. "They are in well drained soil and I feed high quality organic liquid nutes." I have to admit that I am not that enthusiastic about organic nutrients for culture under lights. Do you have an analysis of your organic nutes that you can post here, so that we can determine how much available phosphorous they have? Also, what source of water are you using? I prefer to use rainwater or melted snow. Otherwise you need an analysis of your water supply and you run the risk of salts accumulations from the water itself. Thanks, Casey and tomtuxman. >People renovating their homes is not a new phenom -- an 1870's house can easily have windows that the homeowners considered upgrades dating from 1900, 1920, 1950, whatever. For sure, but it really puzzles me why they didn't put one of the fancy new windows in the most prominent spot. Oh well, I was in another local house that's run as a museum now and the curator said to me, "This house is 90% blindingly obvious and 10% a complete mystery," and I suppose that's true of most old houses.

you are in a bit of a hurry in tree time ... i probably wouldnt have removed half the canopy for at least a couple years after planting ... just to grow the root mass that a tree that size should have ... [not quite sure the planting history from your story.. but you havent been in this house all that long.. right ...?] in my experience ... young transplanted oaks seem to be in slow motion for a lot more years than other trees ... and then all of a sudden i lose interest.. and 5 years later.. bazinga ... restake it with cotton string.. and forget about it.. until the string rots off ... tree time rules .... ken

Well I woke up this morning with horrible stomach pains. My "real" period finally arrived. I am still going to follow up with my dr. just for piece of mind. Oh ya, and I am 30 agnespuffin.

I've always had an irregular cycle. I once didn't have my periods for 5 months. A woman I grew up with didn't have hers for a whole year!

When I had an operation, the doc did a D&C. After that, I had my periods every 28th day. First time in my life that I was regular at age 28. A year later, I got pregnant!

Ibuproben and naproxen (another anti-inflammatory) are prostaglandin inhibitors and can interfere with flow. As can alcohol. Some antidepressants can also have an effect on your period, even making them stop and throwing one into a menopausal state. So maybe you are taking in some medication that is new?

Eating fish is great for your period and for relieving cramps too. I knew someone who said she would go out for a fish dinner to bring on labor : ) Using a Cod liver oil supplement works wonders for cramps (I use to do the liquid form, washing it down with milk or OJ; thought it worked better than the capsules.)
