Wondering if anyone on here has been diagnosed with diverticulitis and how they changed their diet? I have had two episodes, first one I had a ct scan and colonoscopy to see what was going on. I do have several pockets, I cut corn, seeds, and not much sugar or big amounts of meat at one time, anyone have any ideas on this, my dr said when I started hurting to go on a liquid diet for 3 days.

RE: diverticulitis

My Mom and Sister had it. Mom was told to drink the fiber drink in the tall cans, metamucil I think. He made sure she understood not to sub with anything else. He said it had something in it that the other products didn't have. I see other brands advertising no gas, maybe the gas was what was special about it. Made sense to me that the gas would bloat you a little and cause pockets to expand and may be empty better. That is just my assumption. My Sis has not found any diet that helped her. Luckily I haven't had a problem.
