I had an old dog that had three major health issues, she didn't chew and she had teeth issues (buildup). I also cooked for her, which contributed to the problem. There are numerous things you can buy at a high end pet shop, but as stated above, it is only going to be a temporary thing. If you dogs teeth are rotting and/or there is gum disease, this is a very serious problem. Toxins can get into the dogs bloodstream and cause kidney and liver damage. I had to make a very difficult decision about my dogs teeth. She was old and because of her issues, having her go the the cleaning process scared me. When I consulted with my vet, she agreed with my concerns, but didn't like it. I made the decision to make her as comfortable as possible for the time she had left. That ruled out procedures others might go ahead and have done. She didn't have rotting teeth or inflamed gums, just horrid breath from the buildup. Good luck! SG

My vet told me that hyperthyroidism can mask kidney disease. The increased blood flow when thyroid levels are high helps the kidneys. When levels come down with medication the kidney disease shows more. Loss of appetite is also a side effect of methimazole. My 21-year-old has days where he won't eat anything but Fancy Feast. In addition to the methimazole, I'm giving him Thyroid Support Gold and Kidney Support Gold from Pet Wellbeing. Both with vet approval and he is doing pretty well given his age. It took a few month to get things on even keel.

Hi Breezy, please don't feel like crying. You are getting great feedback BEFORE doing your kitchen, which is so much better than finding out after the fact that your layout could have been better. Do you have a way to change your PDF into a single graphic? For example, do you have a screen capture or snipping tool? (I use a PC -- don't know what it's called on a Mac.) My operating system came with a snipping tool and also Paint. So... open up your PDF and expand your view until your image is big enough to read (but not bigger than your screen.) Either use your snipping tool to capture the image (if you have one), OR you can hit the Print Screen button. This automagically takes a screen capture of your whole screen and copies it to the clipboard. Then open Paint, and click Paste (edit menu or shown at upper left.) You can then trim off the unnecessary edges. (I like to press Select All, then manuever the image to the upper left in Paint. Then I use the 'handles' at the right side and bottom to shrink the edges down and essentially crop the picture. Hope this makes sense. Or use Picassa to crop the image.) In Paint you can save it as a .jpg or .png, and upload it to your image hosting site. Now I've gone through this long winded explanation... and I'm thinking instead when you do your scan, you can probably pick a different format to save it in. Look for .jpg, .png, or .gif. Those will be images that you can upload and link to. Hope this helps!

I guess I'm lucky. For the most part my hubby "purrs". Granted whenever I'm reading a scary part in a book, then he lets out a honkin' huge snore. I always just laugh and say that "yes, God has a sense of humor". When we first started to let the let the cats sleep with us when they were around two, too much fur so that didn't last long, Jazzy liked to sleep on my right side, hubby's on my left. The first time she heard him snore, she (no joking here) stretch her neck to see who was on the other side of me. When she only saw hubby, she looked at me and tilted her head, then back at hubby. She did this a few times until I convinced her humans can purr too. I've called it his purr ever sense, because he really sounds like a cat purring for the most part.
