Many herbs can affect blood clotting and make bruising easier - ginseng, chamomile ans quite a few others. If he's still bruising easily, you need to ask his doctor about it, AND bring in EVERY herb and supplement you are taking.

I think that the most common variety of banana trees is having disease problems. Maybe different varieties that are more easily damaged. Just a thought... I don't really know the differences between varieties of bananas in the way I do apples and other northern fruits.

Yes I've used arnica gel that way for years and have extra bottles in my cars. However last time I bruised myself I also scraped myself and drew blood. You're not supposed to put arnica on an open wound. So I put some vitamin A from a liquid capsule on instead and it took the swelling down; but I must admit not quite as well as the arnica. Although it did seem to help with the pain a bit more than the arnica.
