Ya I am on levaquin now for the infection. The doc sprayed stuff in there to numb everything and went to town with a scope and suckting thing, not fun, but I guess I feel better from that now. I had a really bad infection at the end of last semester, so much that then ended up doing a spinal tap to make sure it wasn't menengitus. So that is why I got this surgery. I just can't wait to be healed up and good to go again. Which should be somewhat soon. At least it has to be, I am moving back to school this sat, and classes start monday. Also I have to finish my assignment to reade and review 50 childrens books. lol I was supposed to have a lot of free time after surgery that I would be able to read. And on to that now.

Hi Superbee, Not to worry. I am assuming you are having them opened up. I had that surgery about 9 years ago. Nothing to it. The worst thing was not being able to eat anything that day. My surgery was not till 4 p.m. and by the time they got to me I had a headache from being so hungry. I went in shortly after that but I can't remember how long the surgery took. When I came out I had a nosebleed for awhile but the biggest thing was still the headache. They gave me some tylenol, the bleeding stopped and my husband brought me home around 7 o'clock. I guess I had some discomfort for a day or two. You are not allowed to blow your nose for a week. (I think it was a week) There's really nothing to worry about. I hope it solves whatever problem you are having. For me, it didn't help much, but they warned me it probably wouldn't. I had the surgery because I was having headaches, and found out years later, it was because I was eating cheese and chocolate. Hope this helps. Judy

Thanks :) Yes, I'm very relieved. It was so worrying up to the time to wonder if she'd be healthy going into the procedure and if it would be a success. It's a big relief not to have to worry about her breathing rate or coughing any more! She comes back more to her old self every day. Fighting her brother, pulling to say hello to neighbors on her short walks, etc. She also begs for food a lot more than she used to, probably b/c she got so many treats in the hospital. Another lady whose dog had the procedure said her dog is the same, said her dog got used to having full-time "staff" while she was in the ICU and now expects the same treatment at home, LOL.

My husband had a type of sinus surgery called a turbinate reduction and nasal nerve cryotherapy. What are you having done? His procedure and recovery was pretty uncomplicated but it really depends on what you're having done. He had to sleep sitting up for a few days, use a saline mist, and avoid nose nose blowing for days. There was very little bleeding involved.
