I had a fall to the back of my skull & concussion & lost the sense of smell completely! Neurologist thought the nerve to the nose at the back of the skull had been cut so not any hope of smell returning but suggested taking lots of zinc & Vit. B shots. For whatever reason, in a year or so some sense of smell returned... not much but some!! Now the Dr. thinks the nerve had not been severed but just bruised & smell returned. I had a long blog here around 2006 on my problem & got many hints & ideas.; one was using the drug theophaline (?sp.) that helped one person. Maybe you can find this blog & get some ideas from the many who logged on there (& some still do). Yes, scentes were SO important to me & I miss thesmell of the air after a rain, my flowers, favorite perfumes, etc. ... oh, I miss them!! Sure hope your sense of smell will return completely with time now!

lee676: Do you also have a loss of hearing with the tinnitis? I can't really say if the two came on at the same time in me but both happened before the fall, the loss of smell afterwards. Funny, Drs. just say "get a hearing aid" without determining the cause! They ask if the tinnitis is in both ears? .... gosh, can you tell? I THINK it is in both ears as I hear it when ever I close either ear. Thanks for the info. re- Xanax ... worth a try!

Siphoning only happens with pressure canning and is caused by fluctuations in the internal pressure. Pressure rises, falls, rises again. That is usually caused by making adjustments in the heat levels once it reaches pressure - something to avoid doing. Processing times in pressure canner manuals are outdated. The processing time for green beans has been 25 min for quarts for decades. It is the weight that is adjusted for altitude. Don't know your altitude. Since you did raw pack then some of the water in the jars was absorbed by the raw beans. That is one reason why the hot pack method is preferred - better end quality. Interesting that airlines have NO responsibility to let passengers know if a COVID case was suspected. Totally up to the CDC to contact trace. Good luck on that, I suspect. The sad thing is that imagine if you are having a cardiac infarction (heart attack) and fall to the ground. When the flight landed, Mr. Hernandez was taken to Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner, where he died just after 9 p.m., according to the coroner’s report, which said the cause of death was “acute respiratory failure, Covid-19.” On Tuesday night, two people who said they had been on the flight and had rendered aid to Mr. Hernandez said they had not been contacted by health officials.
