Pain Free at Last!!! Hooray!

Whoever found out about Dial soap and it helping with pain in your legs, I want to give you a great big kiss. I was so miserable on Monday afternoon. I put on heat and them cold for about 3 hours. Nothing helped and went to bed feeling like it was going to be a long night again. Well I did as a last resort put the bar of Dial soap in my pillowcase and I felt 99% better at work Tue. So I went to sleep with this in my pillowcase last night and I do not have any pain. None, nada ,nothing. I can finally get a good nights sleep...zzzzzz"s

It's weird to hear that others' Japanese Beetle season is over while ours is set to get underway right now. My yard calls to all the JB's in the universe..."Hey, free roses by the hundreds!!"...and they coverge on my yard in hoards. I don't get to enjoy my roses after July 4th much since they will be riddled with holes and shredded. Which is even sadder when one considers that my roses don't START blooming until mid-June. It's not bad enough to contend with long, cold, snowy winters...the beetles have discouraged so many up north here that they just give up. I spend every day all summer picking the nasty creatures off my plants by hand, dropping them in soapy water and leaving them to drown. The only sadistic satisfaction I get is seeing them squirming for awhile til they get quiet...LOL. I have never seen one on my lilies or daylilies in the borders. I guess with such a rose smorgasbord, they get their fill there. Just this morning I saw the first few eating holes in my hybrid teas....sigh. Good thing I took lots of pictures of my yard in its glory. Celeste

It has been really nice for gardening the last few days here, I've been outside a lot. I've got my front yard groomed & mostly ready for winter. Now for the back yard. A shame the daylilies didn't do so well for you. Set My Soul on Fire is gorgeous from its photo, & Size Counts looks lovely with supposedly high bud counts. That is the nice thing about this forum, learning what is & isn't great. Now if I could just remember what I learn! I've been sorting through my less remarkable seedling daylilies & trashing them, moving others to my seedling bed "to watch". Trying to fill in any holes I have in my beds, just got back from town with a couple of plants to help fill in. Moving a couple of daylilies that are getting shaded by growing shrubs. I saw some Miss Kim lilacs on sale for $3, good size pots, but I talked myself out of it. I didn't buy any daylilies this year, although I did receive a few, so I'll have a few new blooms to see next year. I always feel I HAVE to have something new to anticipate.

Loved the pictures. Are there fewer raccoons than there used to be? Did anyone else read Sterling North's book 'Rascal' when they were young? Wild life books were once very popular, Farley Mowat may ring a bell. Raccoons used to be plentiful, when I was a kid. I saw one driving home, er, as I drove home, one night a few years back, and tried to get the neighbor kids to guess what it was. What animal: washes his handlike paws, and his food weighs about 30 pounds climbs trees can open latches wears a mask.....? might live in sewers? ...................not one, eight or ten year old, had any idea. Their tails were used on Davey Crockett's style of cap. That! finally brought one response. There seems to be a wideniing detachment from wildlife as it disappears. How do we interest our kids? Well I was not so sure I believed this would work. I was in pain for over 2 weeks. The dr. said he did not know what to do . Someone on this forum said something about putting a bar of soap in your pillowcase next to your leg ( I put mine in a pillow sham, won't slip out that way.) I am here to tell all that I am a believer. I was just told I have diabetes,last week. So I was worried about having permanet damage to my legs. I have told everyone at work about it yesterday, so we will see. I work in a child center and am on my feet all day, but everyone could not believe the pain I was in Monday and then the difference it made in me in two days...I can go play baseball with my grandboys now!!!!

People laugh at dryer sheets for ants and I did to until I tried them. Worked like a charm. I am going to hang them on my deck when mosquito time comes. While I was on a cruise a lady walking in front of me had something white hanging from the bottom of her slacks. I thought it was T paper, when I told her, she laughed and said it keeps the mosquitoes away. We were cruising in the tropics.
