'Brite Smile' Teeth Whitening Program

Posted by BarbB (My Page) on

Not sure if I'm in the right place for this. I just saw a friend of mine who had a teeth whitening procedure done on her by the company "Brite Smile". After a 3 hour session she went home and found that large blisters were forming inside her mouth and lips. In other words this had burned her. My question is has anyone ever had any bad experiences or heard of any bad results from these procedures.

Thank you so much for any information you can provide.

My dentist only recommends Crest White Strips because they said so far it's the only manufacturer that provided them with a list of ingredients they could fully review for safety.

I just had my checkup and drink a lot of coffee so I plan to try them.

I actually asked my dentist about this procedure. He doesn't offer it, but I was curious. He didn't think highly of it (too expensive for often so-so results, though he didn't mention bad side effects) but like Karen's dentist recommended the White Strips b/c many of his patients had great results. I used them and there is a noticeable difference! Results may vary, etc etc.

Sorry that doesn't answer your question...did she contact the office? I suppose there's a potential for side effects with just about any procedure like that, I hope her mouth heals up quickly.

RE: 'Brite Smile' Teeth Whitening Program

Thanks so much TREKaren and Carina for your replies. I actually found a site yesterday that has to do with rating the various whitening programs and the host of the site asked for any comments so I sent them my letter. Got a very nice reply back that said he'd been doing this for over 2 years and had never had a response like this. After doing further searches for any physical complaints I came up empty handed so guess this was a freak rare situation.

She's getting better, but boy what a shock that must have been.

Anyway, thanks for your help, and again if anyone else out there has had the same thing happen to them I'd love to hear about it.
