Hi Zep, I went ahead and upgraded to mp10 for my system. It seems nice so I'll go with it thanks. Unfortunately I still can't get the songs onto my pos mp3 player, there must be something wrong with it is all I can figure. I am able to rip songs from my cd's fine but the whole transfering them thing just isn't working. I am going to try the mp3 player in another computer at work tomorrow and I'll go from there. Remember we've had this thing for a few years just sitting in a closet with how to speak german on it so its no big loss. I'll go get another simple yet fairly inexpensive model at w-mart to learn on. I'm not giving up on this because I'm tired of listening to the boring elevator music the local station plays here in the middle of nowhere. Thanks, Neal

I use Ashampoo software and can't address WMP to create a CD. However, I would suggest selecting a few song titles and carefully going through the CD burning process again. Pay attention to every point in the process and make sure you're selecting recording as a wav file. That is what I would try. :) Hope it helps.

Older CD players in cars don't play the MP3 format. Check your owners manual for your car.

Your post is a little confusing - you say you really don't know anything about the MP3 format, but you wish to purchase a rather expensive player aimed at people who know a lot about it, and are willing to do firmware upgrades and other tweaks to get the most out of it. Cowon is a Korean company without any presence in the US other than having a sales distributor - and no real support - not something I'd recommend based on your description of MP3 and computer knowledge. Before buying anything, you may really wish to learn more about the format, digital rights management, conversion software, and other available players.
