| I think I have a bunion. On my right foot at the inner base of my big toe, the bone is jutted out. Does this sound like a bunion?
Must I see a podiatrist for this? If not, what should I do to make it better? |

| Yes, it could be one. It could also just be an enlarged joint due to arthritis. I don't think there is anything you can do to make it "better." You need to be particular about what kind of shoe you wear. Pointy toes and high heels are a big NO-NO especially if you are on your feet alot. You don't want it to get worse. If it is painful, a podiatrist is your best bet for total relief. |

It can also get infection in the bursae...so treat your feet with care. Linda C |

| Yes,it sounds like a bunion. My mom had one that looked the same as you described. She had to have surgery on it. She always wore high heels alot. |

| I'd been wearing a very comfortable, expensive foot-friendly pair of shoes. I bought a new pair and wore them one day when I noticed this "bunion". Could one day of another pair of shoes cause this? Maybe it was there before and I just didn't notice because I had no pain. Even now, with those shoes back on, there's no pain unless I take them off and touch my foot. |

| It would be wise to check with a podiatrist. I recently attended a foot care program, and the doctor making the presentation said he did not recommend surgery for bunions unless there is a problem with pain. Good luck. We have to take care of our feet. |
