Vickey, Coolmama never said her DH had a sleep apnea test nor did she say he wouldn't use the CPAP if he did. If you read her 2nd post she said: "One of my main problems is the snoring.Even out in the living room I can still hear him,with the door closed! Everyone in his family snores,so maybe they all have a sinus issue or something.The sprays and the strips that go on your nose dont help". Sounds like she is not even aware of the issues of sleep apnea. Even if she doesn't urge her DH to get tested and even though there will always be stubborn fools who won't go or won't use their machines doesn't mean other who read this thread won't learn something. If anyone is a chronic heavy snorer or has a family member that snores it is very important that the snorer seek medical advice. If they refuse to see a doctor or won't use their potentially life saving equipment then the next best thing would be to make sure you have a good life insurance policy paid up on the snorer.

I've been on Prednisone since May when I was hospitalized for a first-time asthmatic-bronchial attack. When I came home I was on 60 ml a day, & we now have it down to 5 ml a day. I'm hoping that will get to every other day soon. During this time the side effects have varied (& sometimes almost driven me nuts)- I usually have a few effects going at the same time. They include weight gain, facial puffiness (though not the "moon" face), lots of muscle aches, especially in my hips, lots of muscle cramps in my feet, legs & forearms, intolerance to heat, excessive sweating, heat flashes, hair thinning, crankiness, gastroesphogeal reflux, easy bruising, thinning skin, insomnia, odd dreams, & for a while, high blood sugar. While this medicine is needed, it's as bad as some chemotheraphy: the treatment is as bad or worse than the disease. Sigh.

I DID have the same tightening pressure in the head when I wake up bit it went away after I cut out my overindulgence in tea and coffee. I still DO wake up around 3 am. sometimes, I am wide-awake, and I AM ON HRT! I have noticed if I keep up with a high level of calcium -- my GYN said 1500 mg of calcium AND 800 IU of Vitamin D is also necessary. Don't forget to get the type of calcium that has magnesium, else you are really not absorbing the calcium into your system! So everything working in concert correctly has helped me get a solid night's rest but if I forget my vitamins, then the HRT has no effect... The other thing I have noticed is if I wake up hungry at the magic hour of 3 a.m... I sometimes have not eaten enough for supper (ergo the cure of those who take tryptophan)... I often skip dinner and graze on smaller items... so had to cut that out... But I am going to try that natural progesterone cream... anyway, Doc says he will only keep me on HRT for a very short period of time, wants me only to take it every other day, but I need to work for a living and I need my sleep. But like I said, it is not working that great anyway... You can try the HRT for a short term just to see it's effect.. I remember taking two pills the first night and it knocked me out and proved that it was a key piece of the puzzle. I went to a sleep seminar not too long ago when it first started happening to me at age 53, and when the speaker asked for a raise of hands for a) who is under stress then b) who can't fall asleep and c) who is menopausal, man, the hands that went up was astounding.. I then realized this is biological and definitely related to the whole hormonal complex..... of course, it pays to stay as calm as possible as pointed out.. perhaps your headache is related to a bit of panic? At the very least if it continues, ask for a blood pressure check... be well

This tells me she has an in or two with the cop. Are they related? Friends? There's some connection to the cop doing it or someone close to him. It's totally inappropriate for an officer to be doing this. If it happened to me I would hope a friend of mine would file a complaint with the police department about his actions. Except for process serving or the like police are not to get involved in civil cases. And since there was an investigation going on which I assume is still open, it's even more inappropriate for him to be going to lecture and threaten people like that. Although lindsey_ca brought up many good points, "irrefutable" doesn't apply. Civil cases use "preponderance of the evidence" which basically means whose evidence carries more weight. Circumstantial evidence is strong and credible and wins a lot of cases. It all depends on the facts, the circumstances and how it's presented. Right now from what I've seen there are a few facts that can be stated, she was there, the pills were there, after she left the pills were gone. Draw your own conclusion. Sorry for your troubles Dotmom. Hope all settles down quickly and things go smoothly on Monday. In the meantime, grab a beverage of choice, turn on a favorite show, tape or some favorite music and follow this prescription: Take one cat on the lap every hour. Pet and scratch cat until blood pressure lessens and a smile returns to your face. Repeat as necessary. :) Take care my friend.
