Twice this week I have a spell when my heart pounds and flutters. The last time lasted about20 minutes. Also lately I am having hot flashes-I'm 76-several times a day. Haven;t had a hot flash for a long time and now here they are again. Anybody else have anything like this??

Have you seen a doctor flowergirl--

You may be having a problem with the senoatrial node. This is what keeps your heart beating at a regular pace. Maybe that is why your heart pounds and flutters. You may need a pacemaker to keep your heart beating regularly. Only a doctor can tell and I urge you to see yours.

Having a pacemaker installed is a realitively sinple operation. My friend had it done as an outpatient, with no overnight hospital stay. It is put just under the skin on your chest.

I don't think those are hot flashes. I think they are your body telling you there is something wrong. Please see a doctor!!
